About me and my therapy practice

Working together

Over time, I’ve found myself increasingly drawn to understanding how people make sense of difficult experiences and challenges. This led me to relational psychotherapy, with an emphasis on the therapeutic relationship alongside your relationships and experiences with others, both past and present. I draw from a range of therapeutic modalities, including person-centred, psychodynamic, existential, and cognitive-behavioural approaches. This allows us to develop a way of working that is responsive to your needs, and I prefer to think about this collaboratively, agreeing together how best to understand your experiences.

Creative approaches to therapy

Creativity and connection with the world around us are also important to me. I’m interested in how physical sensations, emotions, and the environments we live in shape our experiences and understanding of ourselves. I like to work creatively where it feels helpful to clients. This may include using metaphor, exploring thoughts through images or photographs, or expressing feelings through writing, drawing, or objects. Any creative methods are guided by your preferences and always open to discussion. I aim to bring warmth, empathy, and curiosity to my work, alongside a non-judgemental and thoughtful approach.

Practice description

Values and working within diversity

My work is informed by curiosity about identity, relationships, and the ways power operates within and between people. I hold an anti-oppressive stance and have experience working with neurodiversity, accommodating a range of needs. My approach is trauma-informed and shaped by understanding distress through the question of what has happened to a person, rather than what may be seen as wrong with them. I pay attention to the intersections of identity and to how distress is shaped by social and relational contexts. Informed consent and client autonomy are central to my ethical practice.
