About me and my therapy practice
I believe that counselling can support us to process challenging past and present experiences. I am a person-centred therapist and I aim to offer a gentle and confidential space in the hope that through our time together you will find shifts and changes in your life for the better. Sometimes talking in a safe and non-judgemental therapeutic relationship can create space for change, growth and healing.
For over 10 years I have worked within community organisations and the third sector with individuals who are navigating difficult life circumstances. I am passionate about understanding how society impacts us in our childhood and as adults, and how our own unique way of being in the world is formed by our experiences and the power structures that are a part of these experiences.
I have experience in supporting clients with loss, bereavement (including pet bereavement) and I have worked closely with adults coming to terms with childhood trauma, including childhood sexual abuse. I work with people who experience anxiety and depression and I have an interest in working with people who have long-term health conditions such as chronic fatigue. If you have experienced domestic violence and find it hard to know how to reconnect and trust yourself, I hope to support you to find your way forward. I try to work within an anti-oppressive framework and will endeavour to create a space where all parts of you are welcome.
You will always be at the centre of any of the work we do together. Even if you feel I have not listed your current issues, please feel free to contact me to see if I am able to support you.

Practice description
I am available to work online, in person and via telephone. I work with clients online from my own home, and in-person in a lovely therapeutic space in Rutherglen.
I offer short-term and long-term counselling.
Your initial session is free of charge, with no obligation for us to continue working together, just an opportunity to connect. Feel free to contact me by email naomitattum1@gmail.com or text/call me on 07731 767293 to book in a time.
After the initial free session, my rate is usually £60 for 1 hour, but I also offer reduced rates, so please don't hesitate to get in touch to ask more.
My first session
I know that coming to counselling can be a hard decision and it can also be hard to know what to expect. I offer a free initial session of 1hr, so that we can get to know each other a little bit more and to provide the time and space to ask any questions you may have.
