About me and my therapy practice

I work with adults aged 16 and over, supporting people through a wide range of difficulties and life experiences. You might be feeling anxious, overwhelmed or stressed, experiencing burnout or depression, dealing with bereavement, relationship difficulties or low self-worth, or simply feeling dissatisfied with life and unsure how to move forward.

Whatever brings you to therapy, I offer a warm, calm and non-judgemental space where you can feel comfortable, heard and accepted. My aim is to help you make sense of what you're experiencing, understand yourself more deeply and feel more able to manage what life throws at you.

I am LGBTQ+ and neurodivergence-affirming, and have lived experience in both communities. I understand how important it can be to feel that you can bring your whole self into the therapy room without having to explain or hide who you are.

Practice description

I am an integrative therapist, which means I draw on different approaches and adapt the way I work to what feels most helpful for you. At the heart of this is the relationship we build together. I believe that feeling safe, accepted and truly heard creates the space to explore what's going on and begin to make changes.

Sometimes our work might involve talking through your experiences and recognising patterns that may be keeping you feeling stuck. At other times, we might focus on practical ways to manage anxiety, stress or difficult emotions. We'll regularly check in about what is working for you and adjust our approach as we go.

I also enjoy bringing creativity into our work when it feels right. Sometimes words aren't enough, so we might use imagery, metaphor, drawing, writing or other creative exercises to explore thoughts and feelings in a different way. There's never any pressure to work creatively—it's simply another option if it feels helpful.

I see you as the expert in your own life. I'll work alongside you, at a pace that feels comfortable, rather than telling you what you should do.

My first session

Our first session is a chance for us to get to know each other and for you to talk about what brought you to therapy. You don't need to have everything worked out or know exactly what you want to talk about.

We'll explore what you're hoping to get from therapy and begin to think together about how I can support you. I'll also explain how I work and allow you to ask any questions.

Most importantly, it's a chance to see how it feels to work together. Finding the right therapist is important, and there is no pressure or expectation to commit to ongoing sessions straight away.

If you are interested in working together, then I offer a free  15-minute initial call so we can chat and see whether we might be a good fit.
