About me and my therapy practice

I'm an integrative counsellor with a strong person-centred foundation and a registered member of the BACP. I work in accordance with the BACP Ethical Framework, offering safe, ethical practice that respects your autonomy and unique experience.

I offer face-to-face counselling in Burnley town centre and the Halifax area, as well as online sessions across West Yorkshire.

My approach is relational and collaborative. I will follow your lead, focusing on what matters most to you, within a supportive therapeutic relationship where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences at your own pace. Your safety and wellbeing are always my priority.

My commitment to counselling is rooted in my own experiences of trauma, loss, and mental health challenges. During my recovery, hope and self-compassion played a vital role, and these values continue to inform my work today. I understand the importance of having a confidential space where you feel genuinely heard, understood, and valued.

Practice description

I work with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, trauma, loss and bereavement, relationship difficulties, emotional overwhelm, and life transitions.

I also support people who feel stuck in unhelpful patterns, are struggling to make sense of their experiences, or want to understand how their past may be affecting their present. Together, we can explore difficult emotions, develop greater self-understanding, and find a way forward.

I have over 10 years' experience supporting adults in community-based mental health recovery and crisis services, as well as facilitating creative wellbeing groups. Working with people from ethnically diverse communities, and from many different social, cultural, and religious backgrounds, has strengthened my belief that each person’s experience can only be understood within the context of their own life.

I aim to create a space where your voice and experience are respected and valued. I work in a way that is sensitive to context and power, recognising the impact that discrimination, oppression, inequality, and privilege can have on our lives and wellbeing.
