About me and my therapy practice
Hi, and welcome. I am Jaye, a BACP-registered integrative counsellor and psychotherapist working in-person in Stockport and remotely across the UK. I am deeply committed to providing a welcoming environment where you feel safe, understood, and truly heard.
My approach prioritises a collaborative, person-centred foundation, ensuring our work together is guided by your pace, your needs, and your unique perspective. I draw upon a range of evidence-based practices tailored to help you gain clarity and confidence. At the heart of this is our relationship, as effective therapy happens when we build genuine trust.
Whether you are navigating anxiety, exploring your identity, or simply managing the pressures of modern life, I am here to support you in a setting that respects exactly who you are. As a queer, non-binary, and neurodivergent practitioner, I bring my own lived experience to my work, understanding the importance of finding a therapist who truly gets it.
If this way of working sounds helpful, please feel free to send a message or reach out to book a free 20-minute consultation.
Practice description
How I work
Therapy can feel daunting, so my aim is to keep things transparent and supportive. My approach blends a range of therapeutic models to create a collaborative, person-centred way of working tailored entirely to you.
In our sessions, you can expect:
• A collaborative space: We work as a team to explore what’s on your mind at a pace that feels right for you.
• A tailored approach: Whether you need to vent, learn practical stress-management tools, or process deeper experiences, we focus on what you need.
• A safe, inclusive space: I am neuro-affirmative and LGBTQIA+ affirmative. You won’t need to explain or justify who you are or how your brain works.
• Human connection: I show up as myself, not just a professional, because I believe our genuine connection is where real change begins.
My goal is for you to leave our sessions feeling more grounded, understood, and equipped to navigate whatever life brings your way.
My first session
I aim to make the start of therapy as easy and accessible as possible.
Initial connection: I provide a free, no-pressure 20-minute chat online or over the phone to discuss what brings you to counselling. There is no obligation to proceed further; this is simply an opportunity to explore how we might work together and ensure you have the information you need to decide your next steps.
Our first meeting: If you decide to proceed, I will email our therapeutic agreement ahead of time for you to review. Sessions are available in-person, online, or via phone and are charged at my standard rate.
How we start: We can keep our first full session as a relaxed, relational chat to get to know each other, discuss your goals, and answer any queries about the agreement. Depending on what feels most supportive for you, a more structured assessment approach can also be carried out if you prefer.
At your own pace: There is no need to have everything "figured out"; we will work together at a pace that feels right for you.
