About me and my therapy practice

Seeking counselling can feel like a significant step, and finding the right counsellor is an important part of that journey. My aim is to offer a calm, compassionate and non-judgemental space where you can feel heard, understood and accepted.

I am an integrative counsellor, which means I draw on different therapeutic approaches to tailor counselling to your individual needs, rather than expecting you to fit into one particular model. I believe that every person is unique, and therapy should reflect that.

I work with adults experiencing a wide range of difficulties, including anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, stress, relationship difficulties, grief and loss, life transitions and trauma. Alongside my private practice, I have over five years' experience supporting survivors of sexual abuse, and my work is informed by a trauma-aware approach that recognises the lasting impact difficult experiences can have.

Above all, I believe that counselling is about building a trusting therapeutic relationship where you can explore your thoughts and feelings safely, at a pace that feels right for you.

Practice description

I offer both face-to-face counselling in Solihull, and online counselling for adults across the UK. Sessions are 50 minutes long and usually take place weekly, although we can discuss what feels most appropriate for your circumstances.

I understand that starting counselling can feel daunting. There is no expectation to know exactly what to say or where to begin. Together, we'll explore what has brought you to counselling, identify what you hope to gain from therapy, and work collaboratively towards your goals.

My approach is warm, relational and collaborative. I won't tell you what to do or offer quick fixes, but I will provide a supportive space where you can develop greater understanding, build resilience and explore lasting change.

I welcome clients from all backgrounds and strive to create an inclusive environment where you feel respected, valued and able to be yourself.

My first session

Before arranging your first appointment, I offer a free 15-minute telephone consultation. This gives us the opportunity to discuss what has brought you to counselling, answer any questions you may have, and consider whether we are the right fit to work together.

If you decide to go ahead, I will send you some information to read before your first session, including my Counselling Agreement, Privacy Notice and a short Registration Form. This means we can spend less time completing paperwork and more time focusing on what has brought you to counselling.

Our first session is an opportunity for us to begin getting to know one another, explore your current circumstances and discuss what you hope to gain from therapy. There is no pressure to share everything straight away, and we will work at a pace that feels comfortable for you. You are welcome to ask questions at any stage, and together we will decide how best to move forward.
