About me and my therapy practice

Life can feel overwhelming, leaving you anxious, stuck, or disconnected. Whether you're dealing with difficult experiences, relationship struggles, loss, chronic health issues, or something just doesn’t feel right, you don’t have to navigate it alone.

I aim to provide a compassionate, non-judgmental space where you can explore your feelings without pressure. Together, we can understand your experiences, recognize patterns, and find paths forward that resonate with you.

As an integrative counsellor with a First Class BA (Hons) in Counselling and the Psychotherapeutic Relationship, and a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP), my approach is grounded in person-centred values and informed by psychodynamic thinking.

I have experience helping adults and young people with anxiety, depression, trauma, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, and the emotional impact of chronic health conditions. I also support survivors of sexual and domestic abuse.

If you seek support for current challenges or past experiences, I will work with you at a pace that feels manageable, fostering a deeper understanding of yourself and your needs.

Practice description

I believe counselling is most effective when tailored to the individual. Each person brings unique experiences and perspectives, so I adapt my approach to meet your needs. As an integrative counsellor, I prioritize a person-centred relationship, ensuring you feel heard, respected, and free from judgment.

I incorporate psychodynamic thinking to explore how past experiences may influence your current feelings and relationships. My trauma-informed practice acknowledges the impact of difficult experiences and includes additional tools like grounding techniques and body awareness when they are helpful.

Therapy with me is collaborative; you’ll dictate the pace, and I won’t ask you to disclose anything before you’re ready. I offer counselling for adults and young people, both face-to-face in Coventry and online across the UK.

My first session

Taking the first step towards counselling can feel daunting, and I understand that contacting a counsellor often takes courage.

Our first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another. We'll explore what has brought you to counselling, what you hope to achieve and any questions or concerns you may have. I'll explain how I work, and together we'll consider whether I'm the right counsellor for you.

There is no expectation to tell your whole story during our first meeting. We will move at a pace that feels comfortable for you, focusing on building trust and helping you feel as relaxed as possible.

By the end of our first session, we'll have a shared understanding of your goals and how we might work together to support you.
