About me and my therapy practice

A warm welcome. Beginning psychotherapy is often a meaningful decision, but it can be difficult to navigate. You may be feeling overwhelmed, stuck, anxious, uncertain, or perhaps you are struggling with relationships, loss, low self-esteem, or a sense that something doesn't feel quite right. Whatever brings you to therapy, you do not have to make sense of it alone.

I work psychodynamically and offer a space where we can think together about your experiences with curiosity and care. This means I am interested in what is going on beneath the surface, for example, your thoughts, feelings and impulses. Some of these may already be familiar to you, while new insights may emerge gradually through the therapeutic process. Working with your unconscious can prove invaluable, because it shapes how we experience ourselves, others and the outside world. Developing a deeper understanding of yourself can create the possibility for meaningful change. Therefore, psychodynamic psychotherapy is non-directive and uses free association, in which you are invited to bring whatever comes to mind.

Most importantly, there is no “right” or “wrong” way to be in psychodynamic psychotherapy. You are welcome to bring whatever emerges in your thoughts, whether that is something that has happened recently, a recurring difficulty, or simply a feeling that is hard to verbalise. My role is not to judge or tell you what to do, but to offer a thoughtful, supportive environment where difficult experiences can be explored safely at your own pace.

I obtained my clinical qualifications at Birkbeck University, where I studied the MSc in Psychodynamic Counselling and Psychotherapy. My experience as a clinician ranges from seeing students at the Kings’ College London Counselling Service to working with mental health charities in Hertfordshire. Across each setting, I believe that creating a confidential, compassionate, and non-judgmental space is essential for therapeutic work to take place.

Practice description

I offer both time-limited and open-ended therapy, online and in person. We can work together for a defined period around a particular concern, or over a longer period of time, allowing more space for ongoing support and exploration.
