About me and my therapy practice
I am a qualified Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist (MSc with Merit) and a registered member of the BACP. I am qualified to work with both children and adults. I am also a qualified teacher with over 15 years of experience in primary and secondary schools, where I worked extensively with children with SEND, including autism, ADHD, dyslexia, Down syndrome, and emotional and behavioural difficulties. This background gives me a deep understanding of the emotional and educational challenges faced by young people.
My core approach is integrative and relational. I work integratively, drawing primarily from person-centred therapy, CBT, and psychodynamic approaches. My training also included existential therapy, Jungian and Freudian perspectives, Gestalt, and creative methods. I believe the quality of the therapeutic relationship is at the heart of meaningful change. I encourage clients to come to their own answers and insights in their own time. I integrate CBT tools, Gestalt, psychodynamic insights, mindfulness, and relaxation techniques to support emotional regulation and wellbeing. I use psychoeducation when appropriate and I regularly read scientific papers and attend CPD training to keep my practice up to date.
Practice description
I offer a warm, confidential and collaborative space where you can feel safe to explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace.
Our first 20-minute evaluation session will be held online and is free of charge. This gives us both the opportunity to meet, see if we feel comfortable working together, and decide whether I am the right therapist for you.
I usually begin working with clients online. Once we have built trust and feel comfortable with each other, we can then choose the most suitable way of working. This may include home visits, sessions at my practice, outdoor therapy, or walking therapy, depending on what feels most supportive for you.
With children and young people, I mainly work from home using play therapy, sand tray therapy, and art therapy to help them express themselves naturally. With adults, I support issues such as depression, anxiety, trauma, childhood abuse, relationship difficulties, addiction, OCD, affairs, Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD), bereavement, and high levels of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), Developmental Trauma, Relational Trauma, and Attachment Trauma.
I previously provided school-based counselling support to both pupils and teachers. I currently work for a well-known agency specialising in young people’s therapy and couples therapy, offering individual and relational support to clients dealing with a wide range of emotional and psychological issues.
I deeply value your unique experience, feelings, and emotions, and I trust in the power of the therapeutic relationship to gently bring light to the areas that need healing.
I offer reduced rates of £45 for students, people with disabilities, and those on low income.
My first session
Our first meeting is a free 20-minute online session. This is a gentle, relaxed space for us to get to know each other. I’ll take time to listen to what brings you to therapy, and we can explore whether working together feels right for you.
There is absolutely no pressure or commitment at this stage. I want you to feel safe and comfortable, and I believe it’s important that you choose a therapist you feel you can connect with.
If we both feel it’s a good fit, we can then arrange regular sessions at a time that works best for you.
I look forward to meeting you.
