About me and my therapy practice

You don't need to have all the answers before coming to therapy. You don't need to know exactly why you're struggling, and you don't need to be in crisis. Sometimes all we know is that something doesn't feel right.

Come as you are. We can start there.

My own experience of therapy taught me the importance of feeling heard and understood without judgement. That experience continues to shape the way I work today.

I don't believe people are broken and need fixing. I believe that life happens to us, and in response we adapt. We learn ways of coping, protecting ourselves and surviving. Sometimes those ways of being continue to serve us, and sometimes they leave us feeling disconnected from who we really are.

I believe we are all made up of different experiences, relationships and parts of ourselves. Over time, some parts flourish while others become hidden, silenced or cut off through pain, loss, trauma, or simply the demands of life. Therapy can offer a space to gently explore these experiences, reconnect with parts of yourself that may have been lost along the way, and develop a deeper understanding of your story.

Clients often describe me as warm, compassionate and easy to talk to. They tell me they feel heard, understood and supported. Alongside empathy, I bring curiosity, creativity, humour and gentle challenge where appropriate. While my own life experiences have shaped me, I respect that your experiences are uniquely yours.

I believe you are the expert on your own life. My role is not to fix you, but to walk alongside you as you make sense of your experiences and explore whatever you choose to bring.

Practice description

I work relationally and integratively, adapting my approach to suit you as an individual rather than expecting you to fit a particular model of therapy. I believe that therapy is not something that is done to you, but something we engage in together.

The foundation of my work is the therapeutic relationship. I aim to offer a warm, genuine and non-judgemental space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences at a pace that feels right for you.

My work is informed by an understanding of attachment, trauma and the ways our early experiences can influence how we relate to ourselves, others and the world around us. Together, we may explore recurring patterns, relationships, beliefs and coping strategies, not to judge them, but to understand the role they have played in your life.

There is no agenda in our sessions. Whether you come with a clear goal, a specific difficulty, or simply a sense that something needs attention, we begin there. Therapy offers space to explore your experiences with curiosity and compassion, developing greater self-awareness and understanding along the way.

Alongside warmth and compassion, I bring creativity, humour and gentle challenge where appropriate. My role is not to offer quick fixes, but to support you in making sense of your experiences, recognising your strengths, and developing a more compassionate relationship with yourself.

The process isn't always straightforward or linear. It can be messy, unexpected and, at times, challenging. But it can also be meaningful, transformative and deeply personal. My role is to walk alongside you as you navigate that process, helping you make sense of what emerges and reconnect with the parts of yourself that may have become lost, forgotten or pushed aside along the way.

My first session

Taking the first step into therapy can feel daunting.

I offer a free 30-minute introductory session online where we can explore what has brought you to therapy and whether we feel like a good fit to work together.

There is no assessment to pass, no expectation to tell your whole story, and no pressure to commit to ongoing sessions. This conversation is simply an opportunity for us to meet, for you to ask any questions you may have, and for you to get a sense of how I work.

Because finding the right therapist matters.
