About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I am Cara, a qualified Transactional Analysis Psychotherapeutic Counsellor, registered with BACP, UKCP and UKATA.
Whatever question, trouble or discomfort brings you to therapy, I offer a safe, warm, compassionate and non-judgemental space to explore and understand your experience and help you feel seen and heard as we work toward your goals.
I offer adult individuals and couples sessions in Richmond-upon-Thames and online via zoom.
My approach is oriented toward quality and efficiency. I work to provide a strong therapeutic relationship of kindness, curiosity and respect to help you feel better, process current difficulties and work collaboratively to find helpful tools or techniques or new ways of being.
Using Transactional Analysis in my work is both simple and complex. I might offer a new perspective on a 'stuck' problem, or note patterns of speech, thinking or behaviour and offer a chance to explore deeper meanings relating to your beliefs about yourself, others and the world.
I have worked with adults experiencing a range of emotional and relational difficulties, including anxiety, cancer diagnosis and treatment, dissociation, depression, grief, trauma and PTSD, relationship difficulties and divorce. I also provide collaborative support to people with personality or eating disorders.
Outside my professional life, I love cooking, poetry and art, find deep peace in meditation practice, and enjoy learning about all the wonderful ways people exist and create the world around me.
