About me and my therapy practice
Are you feeling stressed, anxious, depressed or just out of sorts? Are you feeling a lack of connection to your friends, family, partner or even yourself and your own way forward? Are you struggling to cope with changes in your life and want a place to talk through what is happening? Do you want to reconnect and find a way ahead for yourself that feels authentic and fulfilling?
I can offer you a calm, supportive, non-judgmental space to explore what is going on for you and work alongside you as you develop a better understanding of what the next move might be. I want to give you the time to step away from the busyness of your life and provide a space where you can see the way to grow and reach your potential in a hopeful future.
Taking the first step in therapy is a brave one and I will be there with you. I am a person-centred therapist and work in a way that offers empathy, warmth, respect and care. Everyone is unique and you will always be at the heart of the therapeutic process I am there to help you in moving towards the change you desire. I aim to work at your pace and in a way that feels right for you.
Practice description
I am based in Faversham in a self-contained therapy room at the bottom of my garden, there is on street parking and it is just a short walk from the centre of town.
I trained at Ocean Counselling in Rochester in therapeutic counselling. I have worked as a volunteer counsellor with Rising Sun, working with survivors of domestic violence. I am certified to support and work with individuals on the autistic spectrum and have extensive work experience as a support worker for two late diagnosed autistic women.
I am commitment to ongoing supervision and continuing professional development, this ensures I work in a way that is both ethical, self-aware and continually evolving.

Frequently asked questions:
1. What will you need to know when I first get in contact?
I will ask you a few questions about yourself and what you are experiencing so that I can understand a little more about your concerns and your needs. You can also ask me questions about what you want to know about therapy. If you would like to go ahead and book an appointment after our initial chat, then we would schedule your first appointment. There is no obligation to book an appointment.
2. What happens in my first appointment?
The first appointment is to get to know each other and for you to get a feel for the therapy space, it can help us to decide if we feel we are able to work together. There is no obligation after the first appointment to continue if you feel counselling with me is not right for you at this time.
3. What happens next?
If we decide to work together then we would have a simple contract, which covers certain key points including day/time of appointment, confidentiality and cancellation details.
4. How often and how long will sessions last?
Sessions are usually held the same time and day each week and are 50 minutes in duration.
5. How long will I need / can I have counselling for?
I offer both short- and long-term counselling. Some clients choose to meet for a few weekly sessions to look at a specific issue, whilst others, who need more time to reconnect with themselves and find the right path forward, come weekly for a number of months or years.
