About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I'm Vivien, I am a qualified Integrative counsellor. I offer face to face counselling to adult individuals either face to face in Tooting or online.
It is my belief that we all seek to make meaning of our lives, and that sometimes experiences come along that question the fabric of our existence. This is where I got to when I decided to seek therapy and untangle the knots in my own being. Troubles with my own identity, place, meaning and struggles with addiction allowed me to seek help and transform my life. The personal benefits of my own therapy led me to train as a therapist. The body and mind are powerful tools, and it is through my own experience I found they can also hold the key to healing, knowledge, wisdom and the potential for change that can be transformative.
I offer my clients a warm, respectful, and compassionate therapeutic relationship, in which we move at your pace, and hopefully in time develop trust. It is also my hope, that the therapeutic space we create, will allow you to truly express yourself without feeling judged.
My key experience is embedded in and not limited to, supporting those who have experienced:
Trauma, abuse, addiction, relationship problems, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, low mood, identity issues, cultural issues, difficult childhood experiences, bereavement, and loss.
Practice description
I work relationally which means you and I create a relationship where we explore how you respond to the world and those around you and how they respond to you.
My training allows me to draw on a variety of therapeutic models where you and I will discover a bespoke approach unique to you.
Types of Integrative therapy include:
- The Clarkson model where we build a relationship of trust and honesty to explore your challenges and difficulties
- Existentialism, where we look at fundamental meaning, purpose and value of your life
- Gestalt, with a focus on body process and creative work to help express stuck emotion/trauma that may be held in the body and psyche.
However, most importantly, is the relationship that we build together to help you gain confidence and trust to explore your issues.
If you’re looking for quality individual therapy sessions with a fully qualified therapist that cares, then you’ve come to the right place. I see it as a privilege to help my clients on their journey and the circumstances that brought them to therapy. I work short term and long term depending on your needs.
My first session
