About me and my therapy practice
My approach is relational, collaborative and grounded in person-centred values.
I believe that the relationship between therapist and client is central to the therapeutic process. I aim to create an environment where you can explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences with curiosity and without judgement.
I am particularly interested in how our early experiences and relationships can shape the way we see ourselves, relate to others and respond to the world around us.
Sometimes, the strategies we developed to protect ourselves or navigate difficult experiences can become patterns that leave us feeling disconnected, overwhelmed or unable to move forward.
Therapy can offer an opportunity to explore these patterns with compassion, understand how they developed and begin to discover different ways of relating to ourselves and others.
I work at your pace, recognising that trust takes time and that there is no single right way to experience therapy.
Above all, I want therapy to be somewhere you can gradually feel safe enough to be known – perhaps including the parts of yourself you have learned to hide, minimise or manage alone.
Practice description
My approach is integrative, drawing on an understanding of trauma, attachment, relationships and the connection between our emotional and physical experiences.
Alongside my therapeutic training, I bring over 20 years of experience working in leadership, organisational development and executive coaching.
Throughout my career, I have worked with people navigating significant change, complex relationships, professional pressures and questions around identity, purpose and belonging.
This experience has given me a particular understanding of the challenges faced by people who are accustomed to being capable, responsible and relied upon by others, but who may find it difficult to recognise or express their own needs.
I bring both my professional experience and my therapeutic training into my work, while recognising that every person's experience is unique.
My first session
Our first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and begin exploring what has brought you to therapy. You don't need to prepare anything or know exactly what you want to talk about.
We'll spend some time discussing what you might hope to gain from therapy, and I'll explain how I work, including confidentiality and what you can expect from our sessions together.
There will be space for you to ask questions, share any concerns and get a sense of whether I feel like the right therapist for you.
Above all, there is no pressure to share more than you feel comfortable with. We will work at your pace, and you are welcome to come exactly as you are.
I offer this introductory session online for 30 mins and it’s free of charge.
