About me and my therapy practice
I have practices in Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells.
I am a registered member of BACP and adhere to its code of practice and ethical framework.
I come from a business background with nearly 20 years of experience in the corporate world and running my own business. Therefore, I have experienced firsthand the demands and stress a workplace can bring.
I have completed my training at the Tunbridge Wells Counselling Centre, which was historically affiliated with WPF.
I also completed training to volunteer as a mentor for secondary school children aged 11+, and gained hands-on mentoring experience at one of the secondary schools in Tunbridge Wells.
Practice description
I offer counselling to those who need help navigating difficult life events or everyday challenges that seem hard to shake. It may be a loss, a change in life circumstances, or a desire to make a change or cope with a certain issue. Talking about it may give some relief from the pressure and help manage the anxiety to move on in life.
I am interested in listening and talking to you about whatever is troubling you, or just about anything that is on your mind that you want to talk about.
My approach is psychodynamic, which means that we will explore how the unconscious processes and internal world affect the external world, and how early childhood experiences shaped how you live today. We will explore your conscious processes, what is on the surface and how it affects your relationship with others.
I provide a warm and safe space for us to talk about your feelings, thoughts and experiences, with the hope of helping you find a better way to move forward.
My first session
Sessions can be online and in person.
I offer a free 10-15 minutes telephone consultations and at the end you may book an assessment session.
The assessment lasts for 50 minutes, during which I get to know more about what it is that you are looking for from counselling, and if you wish to continue.
Each session last for 50 minutes and starts promptly at the agreed time.
I offer a block of 6 sessions, with an opportunity to review the therapy in the 4th session. You may choose to end therapy on the 6th session or choose to move to open-ended sessions, in which you will decide when to end therapy.
It is important to give some time for an ending, and therefore, a minimum of 2 weeks' notice is required.
