About me and my therapy practice

Hello, I’m Natalie, a counsellor working with adults who feel overwhelmed, unsettled, stuck or unsure why life feels so hard, particularly around relationships, family, self-worth and big life changes. I offer a warm, confidential and non-judgemental space to make sense of worries, patterns and feelings that are hard to untangle alone.

I support adults with:

• Anxiety and overwhelm

• Low mood and emotional regulation

• Self-worth, identity and confidence

• Relationship difficulties

• Family dynamics, including blended and step-families

• Life transitions

• Pregnancy and the postnatal period

• Maternal mental health

My hope is that you leave feeling more settled, understand yourself better and are building relationships that feel healthier.

I’m a BACP member, work to its Ethical Framework and have regular clinical supervision.

Practice description

I work in a relational and integrative way, which simply means I shape our sessions around you. I can support you with what’s happening now and, where useful, with understanding how the past may be affecting you. I draw on person-centred, psychodynamic and CBT ideas, and I’ll always explain what I’m doing and why.

Sessions are a steady, unhurried space to say things out loud, sometimes for the first time. I listen closely, ask questions where they help, and offer gentle observations so you can start to notice the patterns that keep showing up. Once you can see a pattern, you have more choice in how you respond, and setting boundaries that feel right becomes easier.

Alongside private practice, I work with adults facing separation from their children and major disruption to family life. This has given me a deep understanding of how trauma and attachment affect us, and of the power of repair.

I bring a respectful, curious approach, shaped by working with people from many backgrounds and by my own lived experience.

You don’t need to have it all figured out before getting in touch. If you’re wondering whether counselling could help, send me a message and we can take it from there.

Whenever you’re ready, I’d love to hear from you.

Further Information:

Rates info: I offer discounted rates for students, teaching staff, NHS staff & counselling trainees. I also have a number of low-cost sessions for people who would otherwise be unable to access counselling. If this might apply to you, please message me and we can talk through your circumstances in confidence.

Qualifications: I hold a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and am completing a Level 5 Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling. I continue to develop through further training in Internal Family Systems (IFS), trauma, attachment and maternal mental health.

My first session

Before we book a first session, I offer a free 15 minute phone call. It’s a chance to tell me a little about what has brought you here, ask me anything you’d like to, and get a feel for whether we’re a good fit. There’s no obligation, and no pressure to decide anything on the call.

If you’d like to go ahead, your first session is a chance to begin at your own pace. There’s no need to have the right words or to go into everything at once. You can share as much or as little as you like, and you take the lead.

I’ll explain how I work and how confidentiality works. We’ll also cover the practical side, such as session length and how often we meet.

To arrange your free call, message me through this page or at www.thesettlingspace.co.uk.
