Availability
I see clients in person at the CCPE clinic on Mondays and Fridays, and in Clapham on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
Online sessions are available throughout the week.
I generally see clients on a weekly basis throughout the year, with the exception of summer, Christmas and spring holidays, as well as an additional three to four weeks each year when I facilitate retreats. Where possible, I offer make-up sessions around retreat weeks to maintain continuity.
About me and my therapy practice
I am an integrative psychotherapist. My approach is relational and depth-oriented, helping you make sense of your inner world, relational patterns and formative experiences in order to support healing and transformation. My work draws on psychodynamic and humanistic traditions, alongside transpersonal psychology, mindfulness and Eastern contemplative practices. My therapeutic approach places particular emphasis on self-knowledge, balance, healing, growth and change.
I work with anxiety, trauma, loss, relationship difficulties and internal conflicts, with particular experience in working with the impact of sexual abuse and complex trauma. I aim to offer a containing and attuned therapeutic space in which painful material can be approached safely and thoughtfully, supporting healing and transformation.
I work collaboratively and at your pace, guided by curiosity, respect and a trust in the psyche’s movement towards integration and wholeness.
I offer both in-person and online therapy and welcome enquiries from adults seeking meaningful psychological work and a steady, reflective space in which deeper change can unfold.
Practice description
I offer both short- and long-term therapy. If you are seeking short-term therapy, we will discuss your goals during the initial consultation and agree on an appropriate timeframe.
The process begins with a brief conversation to consider whether we may be a good fit. If we decide to continue, we will move to an assessment, where I will ask about your history, current circumstances and what brings you to therapy, while also considering whether working together would be beneficial and safe. I will then send you a therapeutic agreement, which we will review together, alongside your goals for therapy.
Once therapy begins, we will usually meet weekly for 50-minute sessions. After the first four sessions, we will review how the work is developing and whether the therapy feels beneficial and appropriate. The frequency, direction and continuation of the work can be reviewed together as therapy develops.
I often begin by exploring what is happening in your life now. This gives us a grounded starting point from which we can develop greater awareness of your emotional and relational patterns. As the work develops, we may explore the deeper experiences and conflicts underlying these patterns.
In shorter-term work, we may focus more directly on understanding recurring patterns and supporting specific changes. My role may at times be more receptive, allowing space for thoughts and feelings to emerge, or more active, for example when developing emotional regulation or grounding skills.
My approach and interventions are openly discussed and reviewed with you throughout the work. I draw on humanistic and psychodynamic traditions, body awareness, Jungian depth psychology and Eastern contemplative approaches, using these in relation to your needs, therapeutic goals and the development of the process.
When therapy comes to an end, I aim for this to be planned and discussed together so there is space to reflect on the work and the ending.
My first session
The onboarding process begins with a brief initial conversation, followed by an approximately 40-minute online assessment, which is held within the same standards of confidentiality as the therapeutic work. If we decide to work together, I charge half of my usual session fee for this assessment. If we do not proceed, no charge is made.
Before our first therapy session, I will send you a therapeutic agreement. We will usually spend around half of the first session going through this together. It is important to me that you have a clear understanding of my ethical standards, your rights as a client, confidentiality, boundaries and the practical arrangements we are agreeing to.
The remainder of the session is usually used to discuss and refine your therapeutic goals and to begin exploring how it feels to sit together and start the work. We may also attend to anything that feels present between us as the therapeutic relationship begins to develop.
