About me and my therapy practice
I believe no two people experience life in the same way, so no two therapeutic journeys should be the same. Everyone brings their own story, experiences and hopes for the future, and together we create a way of working that feels right for you.
Whether we meet at The Bakehouse, online, in your own home, or outdoors through Walk and Talk Therapy, my aim is to offer a space where you feel genuinely welcome, accepted and safe. From the moment you begin your journey, I hope you'll find a calm environment where there is no judgement, no expectation to have the right words, and no pressure to be anything other than yourself.
At the heart of my work is the therapeutic relationship. I won't tell you how to live your life or try to fix your problems. Instead, I'll walk alongside you with warmth, curiosity and compassion, supporting you as you explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
Sometimes therapy involves making sense of the past. Sometimes it's about navigating the present or looking towards the future. Often it's a combination of all three. Together, we'll explore whatever feels most important to you, helping you recognise your own strengths, build resilience and develop a deeper understanding of yourself.
Whether you're seeking support for a specific challenge or looking for a longer therapeutic journey, I offer a confidential and compassionate space where I hope you feel truly heard, understood and accepted. My role is to support you in finding your own way forward, with greater confidence, self-awareness and the belief that meaningful change is possible.
Sometimes the bravest thing we do is simply begin.
My first session
Taking the first step into therapy can feel both hopeful and daunting. It's completely natural to feel nervous, unsure or even wonder if counselling is the right choice for you.
There is no expectation for you to arrive knowing exactly what to say. Many people tell me they worry they'll "say the wrong thing" or won't know where to begin. Please don't worry—there is no right or wrong way to start.
Our first session is about getting to know one another and beginning to build a relationship based on trust, openness and respect.
What We'll Talk About
We'll begin by exploring what has brought you to therapy and what you're hoping counselling might offer you.
We'll also spend some time talking about how we'll work together, including confidentiality, practical arrangements and any questions you may have. This helps us create a safe foundation for our work together.
There is no pressure to share everything during our first meeting. You are free to share at your own pace, and we will work together to ensure you feel as comfortable as possible.
Your Session
Sessions last 50 minutes and are available:
Face-to-face
Online

Each session is your time. There are no interruptions, no agenda to follow and no expectation that you need to achieve anything by the end of the hour.
