About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I'm Lucy, a person-centred therapist, and I'm glad you're here. Trying to find the right therapist for you can be quite energy-consuming. Perhaps life is already feeling very intense at the moment, making the process even more taxing. Perhaps you've been thinking about starting therapy for a while but wonder if your reasons are "enough" to come. Or maybe you've had therapy in the past and starting the process again feels like a lot.
Whatever your circumstances might be, and whatever is bringing you to therapy during this chapter of your life, I'm here to support you and meet you exactly where you are. With care, curiosity and without any judgement.
Practice description
I work in a way that is client-led and relational, creating a space that fosters safety, autonomy, curiosity and self-connection. I offer my acceptance equally to all parts of you; all parts of you are welcome. I prioritise authenticity and bring my genuine self to sessions, rather than being a 'blank canvas'. If it feels right for you, we can also work creatively using different materials, writing, music or guided meditation.
My areas of interest:
- working with trauma, adverse childhood experiences, complex bereavement, abuse and neglect, neurodivergence, relationship issues, shame, anticipatory grief, LGBTQ+ issues, parentification, cult recovery, career-related issues and burn out.
- working with people who work within the creative industries (inc crew/actors/artists/makers). I have a background in theatre & film and therefore have a rich understanding of the many challenges that can come with this type of freelance work. Work that often involves being away from home and one's support network.
- working with young people (12+). I have lots of experience working with CYP both creatively and therapeutically. I currently work for a charity with teenage clients and my work is trauma-informed and gender + neuro-affirming.
My first session
I offer a 25-minute introductory meeting online, where we chat about how I work, what you'd like to gain from therapy and see if working together feels like a good fit. My session fee is £55.00 and sessions are usually 50 minutes.
What I can help with
Abuse, Anxiety, Autism spectrum, Bereavement, Body/somatic therapy, Chronic fatigue syndrome / ME, Coercive control, Depression, Identity issues, LGBTQ+ counselling, Loss, Men's issues, Neurodiversity, Personal development, Post-traumatic stress, Relationships, Self-harm, Sex-related issues, Sexual identity, Sexuality, Stress, Trauma, Women's issues
