About me and my therapy practice
Therapy doesn’t have to begin with a crisis.
Sometimes you know what’s wrong; sometimes you just know that something isn’t right.
Perhaps therapy has always seemed like something other people do, yet lately you’ve felt stuck, anxious or low. You may be grieving, exhausted or overwhelmed, or struggling with relationships, work, identity or burnout.
Maybe something current needs attention, an earlier experience still affects you, or a familiar pattern keeps repeating. Perhaps life looks good from the outside but feels very different within.
Together, we can explore what might have shaped you, what’s happening for you now, and what you’d like to change - working out what belongs to the past, what needs attention today and what you might want to carry differently into the future
My approach is anchored in person-centred and psychodynamic theory, so I’m interested in who you are today and the experiences that shaped you: your relationships, family, beliefs and ways of coping. While Therapeutic Coaching can help when feelings, relationships or patterns keep repeating and you want to understand why, so you can begin to change them and move into the future with more clarity and confidence.
You don’t need to arrive with the right words, a clear explanation, or be in a crisis. It's enough to know that something feels difficult, stuck, or no longer sustainable in your life.
Finding the right therapist matters, so let's have an initial conversation where you can ask questions, get a sense of how I work and decide whether us working together feels right for you.
Practice description
I work collaboratively and actively, so I won't just sit silently in a chair, occasionally asking how something makes you feel. We’ll explore what’s happening now, what's come before, and what you would like to change moving forward. I’ll listen, ask questions and, when useful, challenge you, helping to make things clearer for you.
You might be feeling stuck, anxious, low or burnt out, or you might be finding that relationships, work or identity have become difficult for you to manage alone. Perhaps old experiences need attention, patterns keep repeating, you're struggling to break free of addictive behaviour, or you're living a life that doesn't quite feel like your own. Whatever brings you here, therapy gives us a private space to slow things down and pay attention to what's actually going on for you.
Before becoming a therapist, I spent more than two decades working internationally as a video director and photographer in music and film, so I understand the uncertainty, rejection, success, burnout, scrutiny and blurred boundaries between who you are and what you do in those particular industries.
My experience of the creative industries is one part of my practice, but it doesn’t define who I work with. I welcome people from all kinds of backgrounds and at many different stages of life. Whatever brings you to therapy, we’ll begin with you, and what matters in your life.
If you think we might work well together, you’re welcome to contact me.
My first session
I offer new clients a free 15-minute online video consultation. It’s an opportunity to ask questions, tell me a little about what brings you to therapy and get a sense of how I work. We can consider whether we might be a good fit, with no obligation to book a full session afterwards.
