About me and my therapy practice

I am a qualified psychodynamic psychotherapist with an MSc in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy and Counselling from Birkbeck, University of London. I am also a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and work in accordance with its ethical framework.

My experience includes providing psychotherapy to adults within a wide range of sectors, including intercultural therapy settings. This has strengthened my understanding that every person brings a unique history, shaped by their relationships, culture, identity and life experiences.

Psychotherapy offers a confidential space to explore emotional difficulties, relationships and experiences that may feel painful, confusing or difficult to manage alone. It can help you understand yourself more deeply, make sense of feelings that are not always easy to put into words and begin to recognise patterns that may be affecting your life.

My approach is psychodynamic. This means that, alongside thinking about what is happening in your life now, we may gently explore how earlier relationships and experiences continue to influence the way you feel, relate to others and understand yourself today.

I recognise that beginning therapy can feel daunting, particularly if you are unsure where to start. You do not need to arrive with the right words or a clear explanation of what is wrong. I offer a warm, thoughtful and non-judgemental space where you can speak openly, feel heard and explore things at a pace that feels manageable for you.

Our work will be collaborative. I will listen carefully, think alongside you and offer reflections that may help you see yourself and your experiences differently. I aim to support you in developing a deeper understanding of yourself and creating the possibility of meaningful change.

Practice description

Reaching out for therapy can feel like a significant step, particularly if you are unsure where to begin or what to say. You do not need to arrive with the right words or have everything worked out. My practice offers a warm, private and dependable space where you can come as you are and talk about whatever feels important or difficult.

Before deciding whether you would like to begin therapy, I offer a complimentary 30-minute telephone consultation. This is a gentle first conversation where you can share a little about what has brought you to therapy, ask questions and get a sense of how it might feel for us to work together. There is no obligation to continue.

If we decide to work together, we will usually meet for a 50-minute session each week at the same agreed time. Having a regular and consistent space can help trust develop gradually, allowing us to explore your experiences with care and at a pace that feels manageable for you.

My approach is psychodynamic. In everyday terms, this means that we will think together about what is happening in your life now, while also gently considering how earlier experiences and relationships may still influence how you feel, relate to others and understand yourself today.

There is no fixed agenda and you do not need to prepare for your sessions. Some weeks the words may come easily; at other times, it may be harder to know what to say. I will listen closely, think alongside you and offer reflections that may help us notice feelings or recurring patterns that have not always been easy to recognise.

Exploring painful or difficult experiences can sometimes feel challenging, and nothing needs to be rushed. I aim to provide a compassionate and supportive therapeutic relationship in which you feel heard, respected, and able to develop a deeper understanding of yourself.

I offer in-person sessions in East London and Central London, as well as online sessions. Appointments are available on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings.

My first session

Your first session will have a slightly different focus from ongoing therapy. It gives us time to begin to understand what has brought you to therapy, what may be troubling you at the moment, and what you hope might change.

I may ask about your background, family relationships, significant life experiences and any previous experience of therapy. You will not be expected to tell me your whole story at once or share anything before you feel ready. We can take things gently and at your own pace.

The session is also an opportunity for you to ask questions and experience what it feels like to talk with me. Towards the end, we can think together about whether psychotherapy feels right for you and whether I may be the right therapist to support you.
