Ongoing sessions cost £90. I offer an initial 50-minute online session for £50, with no obligation to continue.

Both short-term and open-ended therapy are available. We can discuss what you are looking for when we first meet.

About me and my therapy practice

I’m Harriet, an integrative psychotherapist with a previous fifteen-year career in banking and financial services. I offer warm, thoughtful therapy for anxiety, self-doubt, relationship difficulties and the pressures of professional life.

My experience in the City gives me a first-hand understanding of demanding workplaces, high expectations and complicated professional relationships. I understand how being seen as capable and successful can sit alongside privately feeling anxious, overwhelmed or not good enough.

You might find yourself replaying conversations, taking criticism to heart, struggling to switch off or feeling that whatever you achieve is never quite enough. You may be questioning your relationships, your career or whether the life you have built is what you actually want. We can explore these experiences together and make room for what matters to you.

I hold a master’s degree in Psychotherapy and Counselling from Regent’s University London and am a registered member of BACP. My route into psychotherapy developed alongside many years of volunteering in suicide prevention and emotional support with Samaritans and Maytree Suicide Respite House. At Samaritans, my experience includes telephone support, work in prisons and a senior leadership role.

I bring openness and curiosity to the different ways people live and make sense of their lives. My finance background informs my work, but you do not need a corporate career to work with me. I welcome adults from a wide range of backgrounds, identities and ways of living.

Practice description

My approach is warm, engaged and collaborative. I will listen carefully and give you room to explore, while also asking questions, offering observations and helping you notice patterns that may be difficult to see on your own.

You can talk openly with me about what is happening in your life, including feelings, experiences or parts of yourself that are uncomfortable to share. There is room for uncertainty, anger, sadness and things you have not yet found words for. You do not need to arrive with a clear explanation of what is wrong.

I work integratively, drawing on person-centred and psychodynamic approaches, alongside existential ideas. In practice, this means paying attention to what you are experiencing now, how your past and relationships may have shaped you, and what gives your life meaning.

Together, we can explore the expectations you live with, the ways you protect yourself and the patterns that keep repeating. Understanding these more clearly can help you recognise your needs, make choices and approach yourself with greater compassion.

Our work will develop around you. Therapy can be short-term and focused on a particular difficulty, or longer-term, allowing space for a fuller exploration of yourself and your relationships. We will review how it is going together.

My first session

Starting therapy can feel daunting, and finding someone you feel comfortable with really matters. I offer an initial 50-minute session for £50, in person or online. This is an opportunity for us to meet, begin exploring what has brought you to therapy now and what you might be hoping for, and see whether working together feels right.

You don’t need to prepare anything or know exactly what you want to say. I’ll ask some questions to help us get started. We might talk about what is happening in your life, what feels difficult and what you would like to understand or change. I may ask about your background and relationships, but you can take your time with what you share.

You’ll also have an opportunity to ask anything you’d like to know about therapy or how I work. We can discuss practical arrangements, including confidentiality, fees and meeting times. There is no obligation to continue, and you are welcome to take time afterwards to decide. If we continue, we will agree a regular weekly appointment, online or in person, at £90 per 50-minute session.

You are welcome to contact me through this profile or by email to ask a question or arrange an initial session. I am also happy to arrange a brief introductory call if you would find that helpful.

I look forward to hearing from you and aim to reply within 48 hours.
