Availability
I currently have availability for new clients and offer daytime and early evening appointments across the week. I am not available on Thursdays due to my bereavement counselling work at St Christopher’s Hospice, but I have space on other days for ongoing therapy or initial consultations.
If you are considering starting therapy, I offer a 30‑minute Zoom call so we can meet, explore what brings you, and discuss what you may need at this time. These calls can usually be arranged within a few days.
I will always let clients know in advance if I am due to take time away from practice, and I work to ensure continuity wherever possible. My availability is reviewed regularly so you can plan sessions with confidence.
About me and my therapy practice
My approach is primarily Person‑Centred, offering a gentle, relational space where you can explore your feelings and experiences with warmth and acceptance. I believe that healing happens through connection, and I work alongside you rather than directing or analysing. The pace is yours, and the focus is on what feels most important to you.
I also draw on attachment‑informed and psychodynamic ideas to help us understand how earlier experiences may continue to shape your emotional life. This can be especially supportive for clients living with the effects of childhood trauma or long‑standing relational patterns.
Bereavement is a key area of my work. I understand how grief can touch every part of a person’s identity and how it often brings up earlier losses or emotional wounds. I offer a steady, compassionate presence as you navigate your own experience of loss.
I also support people adjusting to retirement and other major life transitions. These moments can bring unexpected emotions, shifts in identity and questions about purpose. Therapy offers a reflective space to explore these changes and understand what this new stage means for you.
My intention is to offer a calm, containing relationship where you feel heard, understood and supported.
Practice description
My practice offers a calm and steady space where clients can talk openly about what they are experiencing. Sessions take place in a quiet, confidential environment designed to help you slow down, reflect and feel grounded. I aim to create a gentle, unhurried atmosphere where you can bring whatever feels important without pressure or expectation.
Clients can expect a consistent weekly session, with a clear structure around time and boundaries so the space feels reliable. I work collaboratively, allowing you to guide what we explore while I support you in making sense of your thoughts and feelings. Many clients find that having a regular, contained space helps them understand themselves more clearly and feel more able to navigate everyday life.
I welcome adults who are dealing with childhood trauma, bereavement or significant life transitions such as retirement. These experiences often require a thoughtful, steady approach, and my practice is shaped to offer exactly that. You can expect warmth, respect and a pace that suits your needs, whether you are seeking short‑term support or longer‑term exploration.
My first session
In the first session, we spend time exploring what has brought you to therapy and what you would like support with. I do not use formal assessment tools or written questionnaires; instead, we have a conversation that allows you to share your experiences at a pace that feels manageable. I will ask some gentle, practical questions to help me understand your situation and ensure that therapy is appropriate and safe for you.
We will discuss how sessions work, confidentiality, boundaries, and any specific needs you may have. This session also gives you the chance to ask questions about my approach and to consider whether you feel comfortable continuing. The first session is charged at my standard rate.
The aim is to provide a clear, supportive starting point where you can begin to understand what therapy with me will look and feel like.
