About me and my therapy practice
We can become so used to pushing through, putting others first or simply getting on with things that we lose touch with what we actually need.
I'm an integrative relational counsellor, which means I draw on different therapeutic approaches depending on you and what you bring to our sessions. I believe that therapy isn't about someone telling you what to do, but creating a space where you can begin to understand yourself more deeply.
My approach is warm, collaborative and curious. I'm interested not only in what you're experiencing now, but also in how earlier relationships and experiences may have shaped the way you see yourself, relate to others and navigate the world.
I also work with an awareness of the connection between mind and body, recognising that our experiences aren't always expressed through words alone.
There's no one-size-fits-all approach to therapy. We work together, at your pace, exploring whatever feels important to you.
Practice description
You might be feeling overwhelmed, anxious, stuck in familiar patterns or finding that something in your life no longer feels quite right. Sometimes it's difficult to put into words what we're experiencing, and that's okay too.
I offer a confidential, non-judgemental space where you can slow down, reflect and explore what's going on beneath the surface.
Our work might involve looking at relationships, boundaries, self-worth, difficult emotions or experiences from the past that continue to influence the present. We may also explore the different parts of yourself, including those that have developed ways of coping or protecting you.
As an integrative counsellor, I bring together relational, attachment-informed and embodied approaches, always taking your individual experiences and needs into account.
I offer 50-minute counselling sessions online and face-to-face. We can work together for a shorter period or explore things more deeply over time, depending on what feels right for you.
My first session
I offer a free 20-minute introductory call, giving us an opportunity to meet, talk briefly about what brings you to counselling and see whether working together feels like a good fit.
There's no pressure to make a decision during this call. It's also an opportunity for you to ask any questions you might have about therapy or how I work.
If we decide to go ahead, our first 50-minute session gives us more time to explore what has brought you to counselling, what you might be hoping for and anything that feels important for me to know.
We'll also talk through confidentiality, how our sessions work and any practical arrangements.
You don't need to have everything figured out before starting therapy. We can begin wherever you are.
