About me and my therapy practice

I am a qualified Psychodynamic Psychotherapist and Counsellor and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP).

I work with adults who come to therapy for many different reasons. You may be experiencing anxiety, low mood, bereavement or loss, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, or the impact of painful experiences from the past. You may also find yourself caught in patterns that leave you feeling unhappy, frustrated or stuck.

Sometimes it can be difficult to identify exactly what is wrong. You may simply have a sense that something doesn’t feel right, or perhaps you are wondering why you feel or respond in certain ways.

The psychodynamic approach explores how our experiences and relationships, both past and present, can shape the way we understand ourselves and relate to others. Becoming more aware of these influences can bring greater understanding and help make sense of difficulties that may have felt confusing or hard to change.

I recognise that beginning therapy can feel like a significant step, particularly if there are things you have never spoken about before. You don’t need to know exactly where to begin or have the right words. We can start with what brings you to therapy now and allow things to emerge and develop over time.

Practice description

My practice is based in Enfield and Hertfordshire, and I offer psychodynamic therapy to adults in person and online, providing greater flexibility depending on your circumstances and preference.

I work with people experiencing anxiety, depression, bereavement and loss, low self-esteem, relationship or family difficulties, difficult childhood experiences, trauma, or a general feeling of being stuck or overwhelmed. I also welcome those who may not be facing a particular crisis but would like to understand themselves and their relationships more deeply.

Sessions are usually held weekly at the same time, whether in person or online, providing consistency and allowing the therapeutic work to develop over time. My aim is to offer an accepting and non-judgemental environment where you can speak openly about the things that matter to you.

My first session

Free 15-minute phone call

When you first get in touch, I offer a free introductory phone call of up to 15 minutes. This gives us an opportunity to briefly introduce ourselves and for you to tell me a little about what has brought you to therapy. You can also ask any questions you may have about how I work and decide whether you would like to arrange an initial assessment.

Initial assessment

If you decide you would like to meet, we will arrange an initial assessment. This first session is an opportunity for us to explore in more depth what has brought you to therapy, some of your personal history and what you hope to gain from the process.

It also gives you a sense of what it might be like to work with me and allows us to consider whether psychodynamic therapy is appropriate for your needs.
