Availability

I offer 1-hour counselling sessions on either Microsoft Teams or in-person at The Abbey Road Centre in Bangor, Gwynedd. We can meet as often or as little as you like, but I will try to organize a regular timeslot for you. This is so I can ensure the time is free for both of us. In-person sessions must be between 09:00-16:00 weekdays only, however remote sessions can be flexible.

About me and my therapy practice

I am a trained Person-Centred, Psychodynamic, and Cognitive-Behavioural Therapist. I use techniques from all these therapies to help you get a better understanding of your thoughts and emotions in a safe and relaxed space.

I want our sessions to be a place for you to feel comfortable to talk and have an open conversation about anything you want. We can go at whatever pace is appropriate for you; I will always respect your decision. I will listen to you and emphasise your life events. I may ask open questions, allowing you to give more details, and I may try to help you see your issues from a new perspective.

I also encourage my clients to use creativity to express themselves. Please feel free to show me anything that is important to you and can help explain how you're feeling, such as a song, poem, painting, or a special object of yours.

Practice description

As your counsellor, I am very engaged and dedicated to every one of my clients. I truly enjoy every session I have with my clients. I will show this passion for you and your needs.

I will be there to support you in talking about the difficulties you are struggling with. We will meet on a regular basis, I will keep track of your progress throughout the sessions and invite you to review how counselling is going for you. I always want to offer you exactly what you need.

I am an Integrative counsellor. This means I practice using 3 main approaches; person-centred, psychodynamic, and cognitive-behaviuoral therapy. I will generally use whatever methods are appropriate for your needs.

This may involve exploring your past and seeing how it relates to your current events, encouraging you to reflect on what we speak about, and challenging negative thought patterns you may have.

My first session

The first session can be very daunting before you come, you may feel anxious or uncertain. This is very understandable. I will help you feel welcome and comfortable.

You may leave the first session feeling very drained or overwhelmed. This is common and I understand. You may have spoken about things for the first time in your life. Take some time to think about what we talked about during our session and be aware of how you are feeling.

I will track your progress by dedicating some sessions to reflect on your journey.
