About me and my therapy practice

You don't need to feel at breaking point to ask for help.

I'm Terri, an Integrative Counsellor and a Registered Member of the BACP (MBACP).

My role is to listen, understand, and help you make sense of feelings, thoughts, and experiences that have become difficult for you to manage alone.

As an Integrative counsellor, I draw from different approaches including person-centred therapy, CBT, ACT and attachment-informed practice. I don't believe one size fits all, so I adapt my approach to work with what suits you best.

My professional experience includes counselling within the NHS, spending 5 years with a perinatal charity and counselling within schools. Through this experience, I have supported people across a variety of life stages.

My specialism is Perinatal Mental Health and the transition to parenthood, including the parts of becoming a parent that aren't often talked about. You don't need to know exactly what's wrong or have the right words to start.

Practice description

I support people through pregnancy, fertility, postnatal anxiety and depression and the transition to parenthood and beyond.

With feelings of anxiety, low mood, overwhelm, stress, relationship difficulties, grief, trauma, loss of identity and significant life changes.

Becoming a parent can bring massive changes to relationships, your identity and sense of self. You may be struggling with an experience you were not expecting or have been through before. Or perhaps nobody prepared you for how you would feel. There is no "Right Way" to experience these challenges; however you do not need to experience these challenges silently or alone.

I have an honest, warm and collaborative approach to counselling. I aim to create a safe space where you can talk openly, without judgement, whilst helping to explore patterns, develop new perspectives and make the changes you desire.

My first session

Our first session is an opportunity to discuss what brought you to counselling and get to know each other. We can discuss what has brought you to counselling and what support you would like.

The first session is to identify if you feel like we are the right fit. You are welcome to ask any questions, and I'll explain how we can work together and how the sessions will work.
