About me and my therapy practice
I am an integratively trained counsellor which means I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches to support your unique needs. I believe that a genuine and trusting therapeutic relationship lies at the heart of effective therapy, in which you feel truly seen and accepted for who you are. Creating a space where you can bring every part of yourself without fear of judgement is therefore central to the way I work.
My therapeutic approach is also informed by the belief that our past experiences, particularly our earliest relationships, can shape how we experience trust, connection, and emotional security throughout our lives, often without us even realising it. Together, we can explore these patterns with curiosity and compassion, with the hope of developing deeper understanding and acceptance of yourself, and the ways you relate to the world around you.
I have almost a decade of experience working across health and wellbeing, including several years as a mental health clinician within the NHS. Throughout my career, I have worked alongside adolescents, adults, and older adults experiencing a wide range of emotional, psychological, and life challenges, while gaining significant experience supporting neurodivergent individuals and those with co-occurring mental health needs.
Alongside my private practice, I volunteer as a college counsellor, working with students aged 16-19 and members of staff.
Practice description
I provide in-person sessions from a private therapy room in a peaceful residential area of Newbury, Berkshire (RG14), with parking and convenient access from surrounding areas including Thatcham, Hungerford, Reading and Basingstoke. Online sessions are also offered.
Whether you are seeking short-term support for a specific challenge or longer-term therapy for deeper exploration and personal growth, I offer both time-limited and open-ended counselling.
My first session
An initial 15 minute telephone consultation is offered free of charge and is an opportunity for us to discuss what has brought you to counselling, to answer any questions you may have, and consider whether we may be a good fit to work together. Sessions are £65 thereafter and last 50 minutes.
