About me and my therapy practice

I am an Integrative Psychotherapist with an Integrated Master of Science (MSci) in Psychology and Counselling from Birmingham City University. I bring my clinical psychotherapy experience together with over six years of experience supporting adults with complex physical, emotional and psychological needs within health and social care.

I offer a warm, compassionate and collaborative space for adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, bereavement, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, identity concerns and life transitions. I understand that reaching out for therapy can feel daunting, so I aim to create a safe, supportive and non-judgemental environment where you can feel heard, understood and accepted.

My approach is integrative, person-centred and trauma-informed. My work is informed by Person-Centred Therapy, Attachment Theory and Interpersonal Neurobiology, allowing me to adapt therapy to your individual needs and experiences. Together, we can explore what may be affecting you, develop greater self-understanding and work towards meaningful change at a pace that feels right for you.

My healthcare experience has also strengthened my understanding of the connection between physical health, emotional wellbeing and psychological resilience. I work ethically, reflectively and collaboratively, valuing diversity, cultural humility and each person’s unique story.

I am competent in providing online counselling and offer a secure, confidential and supportive therapeutic space for clients who choose to access therapy remotely.

Practice description

I offer a warm, compassionate and confidential therapeutic space where you can feel heard, understood and accepted without judgement. I believe that every person’s experiences are unique, and that therapy is most helpful when it is collaborative and shaped around your individual needs, circumstances and goals.

As an Integrative Psychotherapist, I draw on different therapeutic perspectives to support you in exploring the difficulties you may be experiencing. My practice is grounded in Person-Centred Therapy, Attachment Theory and Interpersonal Neurobiology, alongside a trauma-informed approach. This enables me to consider not only what you are experiencing now, but also how your relationships, experiences and life circumstances may have shaped the way you understand yourself and the world around you.

I work with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, bereavement, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, identity concerns and life transitions. I also recognise the close relationship between physical health and emotional wellbeing, drawing on my experience within health and social care to support a holistic understanding of your experiences.

Therapy with me is not about being told what to do or having your experiences judged. Instead, I will work alongside you to develop greater self-awareness, understand patterns that may no longer serve you, explore your strengths and identify ways forward that feel meaningful to you.

I value diversity, cultural humility and the individuality of each client. I aim to create a therapeutic relationship built on trust, respect, openness and genuine human connection.

I also provide online counselling, offering a secure and confidential space for therapy from the comfort of your own environment.

My first session

The first session is an opportunity for us to begin getting to know each other and to explore what has brought you to therapy. I will explain how I work and we will discuss confidentiality, including its limits, as well as the boundaries and expectations of our therapeutic relationship.

We will explore what you would like support with, your hopes and goals for therapy, and what you would like to achieve from our work together. I will also invite you to complete an initial assessment, which helps me understand your circumstances, current needs and any areas that may require additional support.

There will be space for you to ask questions and to share any concerns about the therapy process. My aim is to create a safe, respectful and non-judgemental environment where you can feel comfortable being yourself and working at a pace that feels appropriate for you.

The first session is not about having to tell me everything straight away. We can take time to build trust and establish a therapeutic relationship that feels safe and collaborative.
