About me and my therapy practice
Hello! I'm Becky and I am a person-centred MBACP Counsellor/Psychotherapist with a BA (Hons) degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy which I obtained at Edge Hill University. I offer a supportive and non-judgemental space for children, teenagers and adults.
I work with young people and adults, adapting my approach to suit the individual and what they would like to gain from therapy. I offer sessions online and in person from a therapy room in Hove. I also offer walk-and-talk sessions for teens, which some young people find eases the pressure of a typical therapy room.
Practice description
I understand that everyone’s experiences and needs are unique. My approach is therefore integrative and flexible, meaning that I tailor therapy to each individual rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach.
My work is grounded in person-centred therapy, with a focus on building a safe and trusting therapeutic relationship where you can feel heard. Alongside this, I enjoy incorporating creative techniques where appropriate, which can be particularly helpful when thoughts and feelings are too difficult to put into words.
I hold a current DBS check and have completed a range of additional training courses (certificates available on request) including safeguarding training. I am committed to providing a safe and ethical therapeutic environment.
Taking the first step towards therapy can sometimes feel daunting, so I aim to make the process as comfortable and approachable as possible. If you feel I may be the right therapist for you, please feel free to get in touch for more information.
My first session
I offer a free introductory 20-minute zoom or phone call to identify the kind of support you are looking for and if I will be the best counsellor for you. Together, we will complete an informal assessment to determine the type of support you might need and if you would like to go ahead with therapy.
