About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I’m Kate. I offer face-to-face person-centred counselling from my private practice in Cronton, Cheshire, with online counselling available across Liverpool and throughout the UK.
Starting therapy can feel like a big step. You may already know that you’d like some support, or you may be unsure whether therapy is right for you at all. You might be wondering where to start, or whether now is the right time. You don’t need to have everything figured out before you get in touch. We can start where you are and take things at your pace.
Perhaps you’re…
- Feeling anxious or overwhelmed.
- Finding relationships difficult.
- Trying to make sense of your thoughts or emotions.
- Navigating neurodiversity – your own or someone close to you.
- Carrying experiences from the past that still affect you today.
- Finding less meaning in life.
- Feeling disconnected from yourself.
- Supporting a child or young person and feeling unsure where to turn.
- Simply wanting a space that is yours.
I understand that choosing a counsellor is a personal decision, and finding someone you feel comfortable with really matters.
You’re welcome to get in touch for an informal and free conversation before deciding whether you’d like to begin therapy.
Practice description
Person-centred therapy offers a space where you can feel heard and explore what is happening for you without judgement. Sessions are guided by what feels important to you, rather than following a set agenda. Together, we can explore your experiences, emotions and relationships at a pace that feels manageable. Over time, this can help you develop greater self-understanding, self-acceptance and confidence.
I understand that everyone’s experiences are different. Who we are, the relationships we have, and the world around us can all affect how we feel and how we make sense of our lives. I work in a way that respects your individuality, identity and the things that are important to you.
Most importantly, I want you to feel comfortable enough to be yourself. You don’t need to have everything figured out before you come to counselling. We can start exactly where you are.
My first session
Sessions usually take place weekly or fortnightly, at a time that suits you.
In our first session, we'll take time to get to know each other, talk about what's brought you here, and think together about what you'd like from counselling. There's no pressure to say more than you're comfortable with, and you can go at your own pace.Where we meet
Sessions are available face-to-face or online. Online sessions take place on Microsoft Teams, and I'll send you a link beforehand. All you need is a private space and a stable internet connection. If you're meeting in person, my therapy space is designed to feel cosy and calm, somewhere you can settle in and take a moment before we begin.
