About me and my therapy practice
Hello. Thank you for pausing to read more. Finding the right therapist can be like trying to find a needle in a haystack. Here is a brief summary of how I can help you. If there is anything you are unsure about or if you have questions, please drop me a line. In my practice, I aim to provide you with:
• A safe, confidential space to talk, reflect and make sense of what you’re experiencing
• Help with anxiety, stress, confidence, relationships, grief and loss
• A chance to explore patterns, emotions and difficult experiences that may be holding you back
• The possibility to navigate change, transitions and uncertain times
• A warm, compassionate, non-judgemental and individual approach
I work from my bright garden studio in Shaftesbury, online and by phone.
Sometimes, taking the first step is the hardest part.
Practice description
My approach places you at the heart of our work, offering a non-judgemental space shaped by empathy, curiosity, care and compassion. I see counselling as an alliance between counsellor and client.
As an integrative counsellor, I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches and adapt my style to your individual needs. Together, we will find what works best for you.
I will support you at every step of your journey, offering both encouragement and the right amount of challenge to ensure meaningful change is possible, whilst working at your own pace.
Confidentiality, trust and safe practice are fundamental to my work. I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and work within its ethical framework. I am DBS checked, fully insured, committed to clinical supervision and maintain records in line with data protection legislation.
My first session
I offer you a free no obligation 20-30 minute meeting online or by phone. This gives you the chance to have a chat with me, ask me any questions about how I work, and decide if I may be the right counsellor for you.
Our first session provides an opportunity to explore what brings you to therapy and consider a focus for our work together. If you feel unsure where to start, or nervous about taking the first step, that is completely normal. My aim is to help you feel welcomed, safe and supported from day one.
