About me and my therapy practice

I work integratively, drawing particularly on person-centred and psychodynamic thinking. I do not assume there is one right way to understand what someone is going through. Instead, I aim to create a relationship in which we can be curious together about your experience, what has brought you to therapy and what may be important to explore.

I believe the relationship between therapist and client is central to meaningful therapeutic work. When there is enough trust and safety, it can become possible to get closer to our experience and understand ourselves in ways that feel different from simply thinking things through alone.

Alongside what is happening in the present, we may become interested in recurring patterns, relationships and earlier experiences that continue to shape how you feel, respond and relate to others. For me, therapy is not about telling you what to do, but helping you understand yourself more deeply and, with that understanding, create more choice in how you live.

Practice description

I am a BACP-registered Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist and hold a Level 7 Postgraduate Diploma in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy from the University of Westminster. My clinical experience includes NHS Talking Therapies and longer-term counselling placements, working with adults with a wide range of emotional and relational difficulties.

People come to therapy for many different reasons. You may be experiencing anxiety, low mood, bereavement, relationship difficulties, changes at work or home, or finding that familiar feelings and patterns keep returning. You may also simply want to understand yourself and your experiences more deeply.

My approach is thoughtful, collaborative and non-judgemental. Some people come with something specific they want to work through; others prefer a more open-ended approach. Both are welcome.

My first session

Before beginning therapy, I offer a free 20-minute introductory conversation. This gives you an opportunity to tell me a little about what has brought you to therapy, ask any questions and get a sense of how I work. There is no obligation to continue.

If we decide to meet, the first session lasts 50 minutes and is charged at my usual session fee. It gives us more time to explore what has brought you to therapy, your current circumstances and anything from your history that feels relevant. We can also think together about what you hope therapy might offer and whether working together feels right.

You do not need to prepare anything or arrive with a clear explanation of what is wrong. Part of the first session is simply beginning to understand together what feels important.
