About me and my therapy practice
I'm Liam, a psychotherapeutic counsellor based in Chichester.
I aim to offer a space that feels honest, gentle and non-judgemental. Somewhere you can bring whatever you're carrying, including the parts of yourself you might usually keep hidden.
I originally studied Sport Psychology and that background has stayed with me. Movement and exercise has played a massive role in all stages of my life. I've always been interested in the connection between the body, movement and emotional wellbeing, and how the way we relate to ourselves physically interacts with the way we relate to ourselves psychologically and emotionally.
My approach is relational and psychodynamic. I believe the relationship between client and therapist is vital to the therapeutic process, and this is often where true understanding and change come from. I am also particularly interested in how our early experiences shape who we are, and how those patterns continue to show up in our relationships, choices and behaviours today.
Practice description
I see clients in person in a quiet, private and comfortable space. Unfortunately this practice is not wheelchair accessible.
Sessions are 50 minutes, typically at the same time each week.
I offer both short-term/time-limited and open-ended therapy. This is something we can explore and agree on together during our initial sessions.
My fee is from £50 per session. I'm open to a conversation if cost is a barrier so please don't let that stop you getting in touch.
My first session
I offer a free, informal 20-minute call as a way for you to ask questions, get a sense of how I work, and decide whether it feels right to go ahead with in-person sessions. There's no formal assessment or questionnaire, just a conversation at your pace. This call comes with no obligation to continue.
If we go on to work together, your first paid session is a chance for us to slow down and explore what has brought you to therapy, what you may be hoping for or expecting from therapy, and anything else you'd like me to know.
What I can help with
ADD / ADHD, Anxiety, Autism spectrum, Depression, Neurodiversity
Types of therapy
Psychodynamic, Relational
Clients I work with
Adults, Young people
How I deliver therapy
Long-term face-to-face work, Short-term face-to-face work
