About me and my therapy practice

There are times in life when things begin to feel out of balance. You may be living with anxiety, feeling emotionally overwhelmed, experiencing difficulties in your relationships, or finding yourself caught in patterns that no longer serve you. At other times, there may be no clear reason at all, only a quiet sense that something needs to change.

I offer a thoughtful, confidential space where you can slow down, speak openly, and feel genuinely listened to. As an integrative counsellor and psychotherapist working with adults and young people, I believe that meaningful therapy begins with feeling safe enough to be yourself.

My approach is warm, relational, and collaborative. Rather than offering advice or assuming to know what is best for you, I work alongside you with curiosity, compassion, and respect for your individual experience. Together, we create a therapeutic space that allows for reflection, understanding, and lasting change.

Drawing on person-centred, psychodynamic, and cognitive behavioural (CBT) approaches, I tailor therapy to your unique needs. We may explore how earlier experiences continue to shape the present, gain insight into recurring emotional or relational patterns, and develop practical ways of navigating life's challenges with greater confidence and resilience.

I believe that healing happens through relationship. When we feel truly seen, accepted, and understood, we begin to relate to ourselves with greater kindness and clarity. From that foundation, change becomes not only possible, but sustainable.

Whether you are seeking support through a difficult period, looking to strengthen your relationships, or wishing to understand yourself more deeply, therapy offers the opportunity to create a life that feels more connected, balanced, and authentic.

Taking the first step can feel daunting, but you do not have to do it alone. When you are ready, I would be privileged to accompany you on that journey.

Practice description

At the balance practice we believe that meaningful change begins with feeling genuinely heard.

My role is not to judge or tell you what to do, but to offer a compassionate and professional relationship where you can explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences safely.

Alongside my professional training as an integrative counsellor, I am committed to ongoing professional development to ensure my work reflects current research and best practice.

Clients often describe my approach as calm, warm, and reassuring while providing the gentle challenge needed to support growth.

My first session

Our first session is an opportunity to talk about what has brought you to therapy and what you would like support with. I'll ask questions to help me understand your experiences, circumstances and what you hope to gain from counselling.

It's also an opportunity for you to get a sense of whether you feel comfortable working with me. A good therapeutic relationship is an important part of the process.
