About me and my therapy practice

Hello, I’m Chloe. I'm currently offering online counselling and psychotherapy sessions to adults (18+) anywhere in the UK. I'm a fully qualified therapist, holding a Masters Degree (Level 7) in Counselling and Psychotherapy and I'm a registered member of the BACP. I’m committed to the BACP’s Ethical Framework and engage in regular supervision and professional development. I wholeheartedly welcome people of all identities and backgrounds.

Sometimes we might feel stuck, overwhelmed, unsure, anxious, low. It might feel confusing and hard to think about, let alone untangle. My approach is to be alongside you and listen warmly, compassionately and without judgement or agenda to your unique story and viewpoint. In collaboration with you, I will encourage exploration and curiosity, offer things that I notice, and sometimes offer you opportunities to be challenged too. I believe that our relationships and experiences with others are where both the richest, and the hardest, aspects of life are rooted, and that often underlying our potential to connect with others and the struggles that arise there is how we feel about ourselves. Perhaps self-compassion is something you’ve struggled with. Through our sessions and the working relationship that we will build together, I hope to help you re-connect with your own inner resources and sense of self, and perhaps in time discover new possibilities for making meaning, and for choice and change.

Practice description

I have experience working both short-term and long-term, supporting clients with a wide range of matters including issues around identity & self, relationship difficulties, anxiety, depression, bereavement, grief and loss, abuse, addiction and trauma.

Alongside private practice, I volunteer as a counsellor in a palliative care and bereavement support setting. I have also worked as a volunteer counsellor at a charity supporting people affected by addiction, and also as a volunteer for a domestic abuse support service.

I work integratively, which means I can draw on different theoretical concepts and approaches (listed below) to tailor to your needs and respect your individuality. We will review our progress together regularly to check in with how you are finding the sessions and how you feel we are aligning with your needs and goals.

I am dedicated to being trauma-informed in my approach - this means that together we will work sensitively with your self-regulation in our sessions to establish safety for you, helping you feel in control in terms of pace and what you want to share of your own story.

I strive to embody my commitment to social justice by working in a way that is anti-oppressive, valuing of the rich diversity of experiences, and sensitive to the impact of societal systems, barriers and challenges on emotional wellbeing and the self.

My first session

It’s not at all easy to go about choosing between the many therapists out there, especially if you are new to counselling. If you'd like to get in touch, I'd love to hear from you. I offer a free 20 minute initial online chat with no obligation, to give you an opportunity to ask questions, discuss possible session days/times, and generally see how it might feel for us to work together, and we'll take it from there.

Sessions are 50 minutes long and take place via the Google Workspace Meet platform, which is very secure and easy to use.
