About me and my therapy practice

As an integrative counsellor, the relationship we build is foundational to the work we do. I act as a mirror and a cheerleader, a course-corrector and a collaborator, all while adhering to the BACP Ethical Framework. Having worked in health and social care throughout my adult life, consent, safeguarding, and safety sit at the very core of my practice. This is your therapy, and we will always move at your pace.

Practice description

You are your own knight in shining armour; no one is coming to save you but you. Whether this feels like an obvious truth or a sudden revelation, wherever you are, and however you have found yourself here, my practice is dedicated to supporting you in finding balance amidst the turbulence. We work so you can navigate life without becoming hardened, falling into despair, or succumbing to nihilism.

Together, we can sit in the discomfort, learning how to be more firmly rooted in what is being experienced, facing it, rather than ignoring, avoiding, or running from who you are.

My first session

There is no manual for navigating life, nor is there a script for how therapy should unfold; you remain the person who best knows what to do for you, and our work is about supporting you to re-establish that sense of self. Simply deciding to begin means the process of change is already in motion.

Our first session is an opportunity to meet, discuss what brings you to counselling, and see how it feels to work together at your own pace. Prior to this meeting, I will send you a registration form and contract. The registration form collects essential details, including your contact information, emergency contact, and GP details.

When we meet, we will spend some time initially going through the contract together. This clarifies the boundaries and practicalities of our work, including session duration (50 minutes), location, confidentiality, cancellation policies, and GDPR data protection. The remainder of the session is dedicated to exploring what you hope to achieve and answering any questions you may have about our journey forward.
