About me and my therapy practice

I work with adults experiencing anxiety, low mood, overwhelm, relationship and attachment difficulties, low self-esteem, perfectionism, overthinking, grief and loss, questions around identity and belonging, and the effects of difficult or traumatic experiences.

I work with both what is spoken and what may be harder to put into words. Where appropriate, this can include paying attention to physical sensations, emotions and responses in the body, alongside talking therapy. I also have an interest in imagery, metaphor and dreams where these feel relevant to the work.

I offer an open, non-judgemental space where you can speak honestly about your experiences and feel able to bring different parts of yourself to the work. There is no predetermined path for our sessions. We can focus on something that is happening in your life now, explore experiences from your past, or move between the two as the work develops.

I bring curiosity and attentiveness to what is happening in the room between us, as well as to what you bring to each session. My aim is to offer a space where experiences can be explored with depth, while remaining grounded in what feels useful and relevant to you.

Practice description

I believe in therapy.

I'm Lia, an integrative therapist. My own experience of therapy shaped my decision to become a therapist, and I know how valuable it can be to feel seen and to have somewhere to bring the things that don't yet make sense.

I work with the person in front of me rather than following one particular method. My approach draws from person-centred, psychodynamic, existential and transpersonal therapies. We might look at what's happening in your life now, alongside the relationships and experiences that have shaped how you see yourself and others.

I'm interested in the things that can be difficult to put into words — as well as the patterns that become clearer when we have the time and space to look at them together.

I see therapy as a collaborative process. You don't need to arrive knowing exactly what is wrong, or what you want to change. We can begin with where you are and, over time, explore what is happening for you and what might sit underneath it.
