About me and my therapy practice
Hi i'm Georgia. Im a Humanistic therapist with a background in psychology and working in the mental health sector. I love working as a therapist. For me, it's an honour to be invited into someone's world and help them become the best version of themselves.
I am a deep listener, not only to the words you speak, but to the feelings, meaning, and experiences beneath them. As much as I value the power of listening, as a therapist, I love asking the right kind of questions. This way, we can work more as a team. You don't need to have everything figured out, and whatever you bring can be met with curiosity and care
My approach is grounded in Humanistic Psychology, where I believe in your capacity to heal and find your own way forward. I won't tell you what's right or wrong, or set homework. Instead, I will meet you where you are. At times, we may dig a little deeper into patterns or feelings, but always with a gentle touch, at a pace that feels right for you.
Practice description
My approach to therapy is very much led by you. I believe you are the expert on your own life, and I want therapy to be a space where we can explore whatever feels most important to you.
Empowerment is a particularly important part of the therapeutic process. Many people come to therapy at a point in their lives when they feel powerless, stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected from themselves. I see therapy as an opportunity to begin to reconnect with your own strengths, choices, and sense of agency.
My first session
During our first session together, you will be invited to share a little bit about yourself and what has brought you to therapy. We may explore any particular worries, difficulties or goals you have, and begin to think together about what might feel helpful for you.
There is no pressure to have everything figured out or to know exactly what you want to talk about. We can take things at your pace, and you are welcome to bring whatever feels important to you.
I understand that starting therapy can feel scary, vulnerable, and sometimes a little strange. After all, we are meeting as two strangers, and it can take time to feel comfortable opening up to someone.
We don’t have to rush anything. We can take it slowly, at your own pace, and see how it feels for you.
There is no judgement from me. This is your space!
