About me and my therapy practice

In my practice, I work with people who often ask themselves: “Why do I keep repeating the same patterns?”, “Why do I feel stuck, anxious or low despite trying to change?”, and “How can I feel more connected to myself and others?”

These questions inspired my path as a counsellor. I am a BACP registered integrative counsellor, holding a Diploma in Humanistic Integrative Counselling. My curiosity about how people and their environments interact led me to study psychology. I also hold an MSc in Clinical Mental Health (Dementia Pathway) from University College London and a BSc in Psychology from King's College London. I am currently furthering my psychodynamic training through the Tavistock M58 Psychodynamic Psychotherapy MA and the IAPSP Self Psychology three-year programme.

Inspired by Carl Rogers' philosophy, I believe deeply in each person's innate drive for self-healing and self-actualization. When offered a space of listening, understanding and unconditional acceptance, clients can approach truth about themselves. I believe that a person's truth emerges in the relationship between therapist and client, rather than being told to them.I work relationally and collaboratively.

While my foundation is humanistic, I integrate psychodynamic elements to explore how unconscious processes and past relational patterns affect your present. By bringing these patterns into awareness, we can understand the repetitive dynamics that may hinder your conscious goals and personal growth.

Practice description

I work with individual adults. My clinical background includes private practice and community-based mental health settings.

My person-centred training in the UK taught me to honour and respect each person's inner experiences. My experience as an intern counsellor with Headstrong and NHS Lambeth Talking Service taught me that while people carry many social labels, their sense of self is fluid. By looking beyond the lenses shaped by culture, family and society, and approaching ourselves with honesty and curiosity, we can break free from black-and-white standards and alienation to see the authentic person, their vulnerability and courage.

My approach is integrative, meaning I do not impose one fixed method on every client. Instead, I adapt the counselling process to suit each person’s needs, personality, cultural background, circumstances and therapeutic goals. Drawing on humanistic and psychodynamic perspectives, I tailor the work to what feels most helpful for you.

I have over 900 hours of clinical experience, supported by 180+ hours of individual supervision, 80+ hours of group supervision, 110+ hours of personal therapy and 30 hours of dynamic interpersonal group work. I offer sessions in English and Mandarin.

To support a good outcome, I provide regularity and consistency in terms of session times and availability.

My first session

The first fiew sessions are an opportunity for us to meet and see how it feels to work together. There is no obligation to continue. It is an open-ended process and you decide when to finish.

We will talk about what brings you to therapy, what you hope to achieve, and any questions you may have. It is a collaborative space where you can get a sense of my way of working. I offer a standard fee for this session, which we can discuss beforehand.
