About me and my therapy practice
My name is Eve. I’m a qualified integrative counsellor and registered member of the BACP (MBACP), based in Streatham in South West London.
I came to counselling through my own experiences of loss and of needing support to find my way through difficult times. This has shaped the way I work and my belief in the importance of having a place where you can feel genuinely heard and understood.
My experience includes working within NHS Talking Therapies in Lambeth, where I’ve worked with people from a wide range of backgrounds and life experiences.
Being an integrative counsellor means I draw on different ways of working, rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach. This allows us to find an approach that feels right for you and what you’re going through.
My approach is warm, compassionate and down-to-earth. I believe counselling should feel like a real conversation, where we can talk openly and naturally about what’s going on for you.
We’ll work together at a pace that feels right for you, with space to talk about whatever has brought you to counselling.
Practice description
Sometimes life can leave us feeling like we’ve lost our way.
You may be grieving a loss, living with the impact of difficult or traumatic experiences, feeling anxious or low, struggling in your relationships, or finding it hard to feel like yourself.
Life experiences and transitions such as relationships, parenthood, caring for others, work or loss can sometimes leave us feeling disconnected from ourselves or questioning who we are and what we need.
You may not have the words for what you’re feeling. You may simply know that something doesn’t feel quite right.
I offer a place where you don’t need to have everything worked out. A place to talk openly, have space to think and make sense of how you’re feeling.
Whatever brings you to counselling, I offer a warm, confidential space where you can be yourself, speak openly and feel heard and understood
My first session
Finding the right counsellor is important. Counselling is personal, and the first step is simply seeing whether this feels like the right place for you.
I offer a free 15-minute telephone consultation where you can tell me a little about what has brought you to counselling, ask any questions and get a feel for how I work. It’s also a chance for us to see whether we feel like a good fit.
If you’d like to continue, the next step is to arrange your first counselling session, either in person or online. Afterwards, we can talk about how it felt and whether you’d like to continue working together. There’s no pressure to continue if it doesn’t feel right.
Sometimes, finding the right place is where it starts.
