About me and my therapy practice
I offer warm, confidential counselling for adults and young people aged 13+, both face-to-face in Milton Keynes and online across the UK.
You may be considering counselling because you feel anxious, overwhelmed, stressed or emotionally exhausted, or because you are going through a significant change in your life. You may be struggling with relationships, confidence, identity, or simply feel that something needs to change but aren't sure where to begin.
I work primarily from a person-centred approach, creating a respectful, non-judgemental space where you can explore what is happening in your life at your own pace. I believe you don't need to have everything figured out before starting counselling. We can begin with whatever feels most important to you.
My practice is particularly informed by my work with neurodivergent clients, including ADHD and autistic adults and young people, as well as people experiencing life transitions, anxiety, stress, relationship difficulties and emotional overwhelm. I also have a strong interest in how experiences can affect both our emotional and physical wellbeing, and my practice is increasingly informed by trauma-informed and somatic approaches.
I see counselling as a collaborative process. Rather than telling you what you should do, I will help you develop a deeper understanding of yourself, your experiences and the patterns that may be affecting you, so that you can make choices that feel right for you.
You don't need to know exactly what you need from counselling before you get in touch. If you're unsure whether I might be the right counsellor for you, you're welcome to book a free 15-minute consultation and we can talk briefly about what you're looking for.
Sessions are £60, with both face-to-face and online appointments available.
Practice description
Sessions provide space to slow down, talk openly and make sense of your experiences. Depending on your needs, this may involve exploring emotions, relationships and patterns, developing greater self-awareness, or considering what might help you move forward.
I offer a warm, respectful and collaborative therapeutic relationship, while maintaining professional boundaries and working at a pace that feels appropriate for you. Where appropriate, I may also work creatively and experientially, recognising that not everything we experience is easy to put into words.
My practice is increasingly informed by somatic approaches and an understanding of nervous system regulation and recovery. This recognises the connection between thoughts, emotions and the body. Where appropriate and within my scope of practice, we may gently explore body awareness, sensations, grounding, regulation and the ways your nervous system responds to stress, overwhelm or difficult experiences.
The way we work together will be shaped around you, your needs and what feels comfortable and meaningful for you.
My first session
First sessions are for getting to know each other better and setting our compass for the journey. Although assessment and ways of working discussions are a big part of it, at its heart, it is still about connecting as a human to a human.
