About me and my therapy practice

Start with understanding:

I’d invite you to describe what’s troubling you, what you’d like to change, and what feels most important right now.

Create a non-judgmental space:

I’d respond with empathy and curiosity rather than criticism or assumptions.

Explore patterns:

We could look at thoughts, emotions, behaviours, relationships, and situations that may be contributing to difficulties.

Develop practical strategies:

Depending on your goals, we might use approaches drawn from evidence-based therapies such as CBT, mindfulness, behavioural techniques, or problem-solving.

Work collaboratively:

You remain in control of what you discuss and which suggestions you want to try. I can offer perspectives and exercises, but I don't diagnose or make decisions for you.

Review and adjust:

We can consider what is or isn't helping and adapt the approach as we go.

Practice description

I am a compassionate and client-centred therapeutic counsellor dedicated to creating a safe, supportive, and non-judgemental space where individuals can explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences. I work collaboratively with clients, recognising that everyone’s journey is unique, and tailor my approach to their individual needs and goals.

My aim is to help clients develop greater self-awareness, understand patterns that may be affecting their wellbeing, and build practical tools and confidence to navigate life’s challenges. Whether you are experiencing anxiety, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, life transitions, grief, stress, or simply feel that you need someone to talk to, counselling can provide a space to pause, reflect, and move forward.

I believe that meaningful therapeutic work is built on trust, empathy, respect, and authenticity. My role is not to tell you what to do, but to support you in finding your own understanding, strengths, and path forward.

My first session

The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and begin to explore what has brought you to therapy. We will discuss your current concerns, what you would like support with, and what you hope to gain from therapy.

I will also explain how I work, answer any questions you may have, and talk through confidentiality and practical arrangements. There is no pressure to share anything you are not ready to discuss.

Where appropriate, I may invite you to complete a brief assessment or questionnaire to help us understand your needs and establish a starting point for our work together. We can then agree on some initial goals and consider how we might work towards them at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

The first session is charged at my usual session rate.
