About me and my therapy practice
When life feels overwhelming, it can be hard to see a way forward. You may be facing a difficult life transition, experiencing grief, living with the effects of trauma or coming to terms with the life you hoped for but never had. Sometimes these experiences leave us feeling overwhelmed and disconnected, as though the weight of it all is simply too much to carry alone.
My work is to be alongside you in those moments. I offer a compassionate, thoughtful space where you can be heard without judgement. Together, we can make sense of what you’re experiencing, at your pace, and explore what healing or change might look like for you.
I am a Person Centred counsellor with an Integrative approach, working with life transitions, trauma, grief and anxiety and the unique challenges that can come with being neurodivergent. Alongside my professional training, I bring lived experience and have worked alongside NHS staff supporting people living with dementia and those who care for them.
I believe in a holistic approach that recognises the connection between mind and body. I also value the restorative role that nature and animals can play in supporting wellbeing and recovery.
If something in these words resonates with you, I’d be glad to hear from you.
Practice description
Based in Penzance, Cornwall, I offer counselling online and in person, with home visits available by arrangement. I provide both short- and long-term counselling, as well as open-ended therapy, with weekly or fortnightly sessions available.
I have experience working with life transitions, trauma, grief and anxiety, as well as the unique challenges that can come with being neurodivergent.
My previous experience as a Dementia Advisor means I understand the challenges that can come with caring for a loved one, as well as how a diagnosis or health-related difficulty can sometimes make leaving home feel difficult. If you have particular circumstances or accessibility needs, please feel free to discuss these with me and we can explore how I might tailor my support to you.
I am happy to offer a free 20-minute discovery call to talk through your needs, answer any questions you may have and explore whether I might be the right fit for you.
My first session
During our first session, we’ll take some time to talk about any concerns or fears you may have, your previous experiences of counselling or mental health services, and what you hope to gain from our work together.
By the end of this initial session, you should have a clearer sense of how we might work collaboratively and whether counselling with me feels like the right fit for you.
If you decide you would like to continue, we can then agree how we will work together and put a counselling agreement in place for our ongoing sessions.
If you have any questions or need any further information before then, please do get in touch.
