About me and my therapy practice
I'm an integrative counsellor working with adults, in person in Shoreditch and online. I work especially with men, and with people in creative and corporate worlds, though I welcome clients of all genders, sexualities and backgrounds.
Many of the people I see look, from the outside, as though they're doing well - while privately struggling with anxiety, self-doubt, burnout, or a sense that something needs to change. Before training as a counsellor I spent many years in creative and technology organisations, so I understand some of the pressures, expectations and contradictions those worlds can bring.
My approach is integrative, drawing primarily on person-centred, relational and psychodynamic ways of working. Rather than applying a single formula, I shape the work around you - paying attention both to what's happening in your life now and to the experiences and relationships that may have shaped how you see yourself and relate to others. I aim to offer a warm, thoughtful and collaborative space to explore whatever has brought you to therapy.
I have a particular interest in working with men, and the different ways we learn to manage vulnerability, anger, intimacy, loss, and expectations about who we're supposed to be.
I’ve worked with clients in both NHS and private placements - including over 130 hours in an NHS Talking Therapies (IAPT) service, and ongoing work with Choose Therapy, a low-cost national counselling service, bringing me to over 200 clinical hours in total, face to face and online.
I work within the BACP Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions and have regular clinical supervision.
Practice description
I offer weekly 50-minute sessions, in person at The Practice Rooms in Shoreditch and online by video.
We'll usually begin with a free introductory conversation, with no obligation on either side to continue - a chance to get a sense of whether working together feels right for you.
Fees are £85 per session in person and £75 online. I also keep a small number of lower-cost spaces for people on a limited income, so please do ask if that would make a difference.
What you bring to our sessions is treated as confidential, within the usual professional and legal limits, which we can talk through together at the start. My aim is to offer a steady, non-judgemental space - somewhere you don't have to hold it all together, and can be a person rather than a performance.
My first session
Our first contact is a free introductory video call, usually around 15–20 minutes. It's a relaxed chance to tell me a little about what's bringing you to therapy, to ask me anything you'd like, and to get a sense of how it feels to talk together. There's no pressure to commit and no charge. If we decide to go ahead, we'll arrange a regular weekly time that works for us both.
