About me and my therapy practice

I am a qualified Integrative Counsellor, which means I draw on different therapeutic approaches depending on your individual needs.

My work is rooted in the Person-Centred approach, offering empathy, compassion and a safe therapeutic relationship where you can feel heard and accepted. Other approaches that influence my practice include Transactional Analysis, Existential Therapy and the work of Carl Jung. I believe that each person’s experience is unique, and I will work collaboratively with you in a way that feels supportive and appropriate for you. I work in the Garden Room at my home in the Bride Valley, between Bridport and Dorchester.

Practice description

People come to counselling for many different reasons. You may be struggling with anxiety, low mood, stress or difficult relationships, or perhaps you are going through a period of change, loss or uncertainty. You may feel stuck, overwhelmed or disconnected from yourself, or simply have a sense that you would like some support in making sense of things.

Whatever brings you, I offer a calm space where you can slow down, talk openly and have time to reflect on what is happening in your life. There is no expectation that you arrive with everything worked out, and you don't need to know exactly what you want from counselling. We can begin wherever you are.

I aim to create a relationship in which you feel comfortable and free to explore thoughts and feelings that may be difficult to share elsewhere. I will listen carefully and without judgement, and we can explore your experiences together, including any patterns or beliefs that may be affecting how you feel and relate to yourself or others.

Counselling can be an opportunity to develop greater self-awareness and understanding, find new perspectives, work through difficult experiences, or simply have a place where you can be heard. My aim is not to tell you what you should do, but to support you in understanding yourself and finding a way forward that feels right for you.

Sessions are offered from my peaceful Garden Room in the Bride Valley, where I provide a private and welcoming space away from the distractions of everyday life.
