About me and my therapy practice

Hello! My name is Mira.

I am a MBACP-Registered Integrative Counsellor. I hold a Post-graduate Diploma in Integrative Counselling from the Minster Centre, London, as well as a Master's Degree in Psychology from the University of Hertfordshire, where my research focused on Cognitive Neuropsychology.

I work online and in-person in Hertfordshire with adults of all ages, experiencing a range of difficulties, including the effects of trauma, complex or longstanding emotional experiences, and challenges that may have become difficult to understand or manage alone.

Sometimes life can leave a lasting impact on how we feel, think, relate to others and experience ourselves. You may be struggling with anxiety, low mood or a sense of being stuck, or you may be carrying experiences from the past that continue to affect your life in ways that are difficult to understand.

Perhaps what you are feeling is more complex. You may have been through trauma, difficult relationships, loss or other experiences that have left you feeling overwhelmed, disconnected or unsure of how to move forward.

I work collaboratively and at a pace that feels manageable for you. My aim is to offer a safe, warm and accepting space where we can explore not only what is bringing you to therapy now, but also the links and patterns that may lie beneath it. I wish to support, enable, be alongside you and help you build in resource to overcome challenges and live a more fulfilling life.

Practice description

My approach is integrative, which means I draw from different therapeutic traditions to meet you where you are. My practice is primarily informed by relational, psychodynamic, and person-centred approaches, with additional influences from experiential, body and art therapy.

At the heart of my work is the relationship we develop in therapy. I see this as a space where you can feel genuinely heard, understood and accepted, with the freedom to explore parts of yourself and your experience that may be difficult to share elsewhere. I bring curiosity, care, empathy and openness, believing that feeling safe enough to be yourself is an important part of the therapeutic process.

My background and training in psychology and neuroscience also gives me a deeper understanding of how our minds and bodies are shaped by our experiences, relationships and environments. I bring this knowledge into my work alongside an openness to each person's individual story, helping me to look at difficulties holistically.

My first session

Our first session is an opportunity for us to meet, talk about what has brought you to counselling and consider what you would like from therapy. You don't need to have everything figured out or know exactly where to begin.

There will also be space for you to ask questions and get a sense of how I work, so that together we can start thinking whether counselling with me feels like the right fit for you.
