About me and my therapy practice

You may be coming to counselling to make sense of difficult experiences or work through challenges in your relationships. Perhaps you’re feeling overwhelmed or disconnected from yourself. You don’t need to know where to start or how to put everything into words. You’re welcome to come as you are, and we can take the time to explore things together.

My approach is rooted in person-centred counselling. I offer an open and accepting space, free from judgement, meeting you where you are and working collaboratively without a rigid agenda. I believe that a trusting therapeutic relationship, built over time, can provide a steady foundation from which to develop greater self-acceptance, reconnect with your own feelings, needs and values, and develop a stronger sense of trust in yourself. Over time, this can support you in living more authentically and growing in ways that feel meaningful and lasting to you.

Alongside this, I integrate perspectives from other therapeutic modalities where appropriate, including somatic, emotion-focused and experiential ways of working. These can offer different ways of exploring our experiences, helping us connect with emotions, bodily responses and aspects of ourselves that may not be immediately clear to us. Our work remains guided by the therapeutic relationship and what may be helpful for you.

Practice description

I hold a BA (Hons) in Counselling and Psychotherapy and am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I value ongoing personal and professional development, including self-reflection and exploring my own experiences, and see this as an important part of my work as a counsellor. I also recognise the importance of regular supervision in supporting ethical and reflective practice, and in ensuring that my work remains responsive to the needs of the people I work with.

My first session

I offer a free 20-minute introductory call where we can talk about what brings you to counselling, what you’d like support with, and any questions about my approach or how sessions work. It’s an opportunity to explore what working together might look like and how it feels for you, with no pressure to continue.

If you decide to begin counselling, we’ll agree on a regular session time. Sessions last 50 minutes and take place online or by phone. I offer open-ended counselling, allowing us to work at a pace and for a length of time that feels right for you.
