About me and my therapy practice

I specialise in working with men, helping them make sense of themselves, improve their relationships and create lasting change.

If you are feeling stuck, low, anxious or overwhelmed, perhaps your drive and way of relating to others is not allowing you to build relationships and perform the way you are use to, or want to be in the future.

You won’t need to come in knowing what to say, or face your feelings alone.

If you feel burnt out, drifting through a life transition, dealing with redundancy, anxious about the future in an AI world, unsure of your sense of identity, or struggling with your relationships. My practice is founded in supporting you to explore what sits under these experiences and emotions, and make the changes you need in a non directive and collaborative approach.

Practice description

I offer an empathetic, warm and confidential space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings beyond the performance expected of you at work, as part of your family, or in relationships.

My role is to listen, reflect, support, and together explore what it is to be you and how you want that to change.

As a relational integrative counsellor, I draw on a few approaches that inform my work. This means tailoring my experience and theoretical approach based on your needs. At the heart of our work together, a trusting and congruent relationship will be a foundation. In practice the setting will be relaxed and provide you with the space you need.

I am a therapist with a history in being an entrepreneur and working in elite sport. Through this period I saw how the pressure of performing strained relationships, brought up feelings of being less than enough, and how these feelings impacted mental health and life events.

We are frequently told to soldier on, this often leads to buried feelings of inadequacy, depression and of not understanding how to move forward in our lives.

As a registered practitioner with both the BACP and NCPS, I work in accordance with the ethical and professional standards outlined in the BACP Ethical Framework for Counselling Professions and the NCPS Code of Ethics. These standards underpin my way of working.

My first session

I offer a free consultation of up to 20 minutes, where we can discuss in more detail your current situation. It is an opportunity to see if we can work together. With that in mind we can discuss a therapy plan. I offer both long and short term work.

It can sometimes be a bit daunting meeting a therapist for the first time but I want to assure you that I will endeavour to make you feel as comfortable as possible.

The consultation is there to give us both a chance to see if we can work together and for you as the client to feel comfortable with me as your counsellor.

There is no obligation after this initial session.
