About me and my therapy practice
I offer a warm, compassionate and non-judgemental space where you can feel heard, understood and accepted for who you are. My approach is person-centred, meaning that I believe you are the expert in your own life and that therapy should be shaped around your individual needs, experiences and goals.
I work collaboratively with clients to explore whatever may be bringing them to counselling, whether that is anxiety, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, grief and loss, life changes, emotional overwhelm or simply feeling stuck.
I believe the therapeutic relationship is an important part of the counselling process. My aim is to create a safe space where you can be open and honest without fear of judgement, allowing us to gently explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences at your own pace.
Practice description
Welcome to Anchor Therapy, a warm and welcoming space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences at your own pace, without judgement.
My approach is person-centred, meaning I believe you are the expert in your own life. I offer a genuine, compassionate and non-judgemental relationship where you can feel heard, understood and accepted. Together, we can explore whatever you may be experiencing, whether that is anxiety, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, grief, loss, life changes or simply feeling overwhelmed.
I offer face-to-face counselling from my grounding therapy space in Bexhill, a calm and private room designed to feel comfortable, safe and relaxed. I understand that walking into a counselling room can feel daunting, so my aim is to create an environment where you can gradually feel at ease and be yourself.
For those who feel more comfortable outdoors, I also offer walk-and-talk sessions. Sometimes being outside and moving gently can make it easier to talk, breathe and process what is going on. We can take things at your pace, without the pressure of sitting opposite someone in a traditional therapy room.
I also offer online sessions, providing flexibility for those who may find it easier to talk from the comfort of their own home. Although online, I believe that meaningful therapeutic connection can still be created. I bring the same warmth, genuine presence and attentiveness to online sessions, so you can feel truly listened to and supported.
Whichever way you choose to work with me, my aim is to provide a space where you don’t have to have everything figured out. You can simply arrive as you are, and we can begin from there.
My first session
Our first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and for you to begin sharing what has brought you to counselling, at your own pace. We will discuss what you would like support with, what you hope to gain from counselling and how we can work together.
I will also go through the contract and explain confidentiality, boundaries and how sessions work, giving you the opportunity to ask any questions you may have. There is no pressure to share anything you are not ready to talk about.
My approach is warm, genuine and relational, creating a safe and non-judgemental space where you can feel heard and understood. We can work together to identify what feels most important for you, whether that is anxiety, relationships, self-esteem, grief, loss or simply feeling overwhelmed.
Your first session is charged at my usual session rate, with no additional assessment fee.
